OK boys and girls.  The kick-ass Aussie band, Hoodoo Gurus, just released a new album. https://au.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/hoodoo-gurus-new-album-chariot-of-the-gods-36311/

Their first 4 albums from 84-89 were all fantastic and all that followed had their high points.  Lots of poppy goodness and loud guitars.  Those first 4: Stone Age Romeos, Mars Needs Guitars, Blow Your Cool and Magnum Cum Louder all had a lot of play on college radio and their live shows were incredibly fun.  Faulkner was hilarious on stage and I got to see them with Tragically Hip in 89, which made for a very entertaining show with those two front men on the same bill.

A buddy of mine interviewed Dave Faulkner of the band and plays some stuff from the new record and also from their 80s catalogue in his Bottom Forty Podcast, Episode 57.

Let's have a listen, shall we.

Thanks, Hulla.  Love the Gurus.

If you have some time, listen to that Bottom Forty interview.  Faulkner gives a ton of great background into the band.  The guy doing the interview lives in Portland now, but he was with me in 89 at the Gurus/Tragically Hip show.
