It's crazy to check his IMDB page to see how many shit movies he had going when he first announced retiring.  I can't imagine he needed money bad enough to make this crap.

no. but nobody bats 1.000

Gary Oldman and DDL bat 1.000. Drew bats 1.000 (and you know what I mean).

Hopefully, when the time comes, I'll think it's around 2005.

I read they knew it was getting bad and his people signed him up for these straight to DVD movies where he’s on the cover but only films for one or two days and has like five to ten minutes of screen time.  Then he got paid 500k-million each or something.

Guess you missed Lost in Space and Eversmile, New Jersey.

Yeah, this is what I heard. I'm not sure who was calling the shots on those -- his wife, management, etc. But, yes, they're taking advantage of him in a way.

I read somewhere that Demi has moved in with Bruce and his family supposedly to help out with his care. You’d think he’d have plenty.

he seems happy. that's good to see. and good for Demi.

I am going to take the opposite stance...  Hes got 3 adult children, 2 minor children, and a wife who is only turning 45 this year.  It sounds like he had most of his mental facalties until 18-24 months ago, which was about the time the last of those films got made.

They knew shit was getting bad, maybe he was trying to cash in as much as possible to help his family after he was gone?

Or maybe they needed a fuckton of money to help pay for some experimental anti-Aphasia med (or some similar treatment that had a tiny chance to work), that cost $500k a pop and wasnt covered by any insurance at all.

Even if his financial adviser invested well, adding another $5-15M to the family coffers wouldnt hurt.   its not like his legacy can be tarnished.

That was the impression I got when they initially announced.

...and hopefully not for the financial gain of his agents and handlers.  Hollywood can be bad for that.

As long as he remembers his family that’s good enough for me. I and everyone else can remember him being a famous actor for him.

The guy who played Willis on Different Strokes was once a famous actor and very few people remember that.

Devastating. Crushing. Unimaginable. Cruel. Catastrophic.

These are the emotions of watching your loved one lose mental faculties while physically continuing to thrive.

Bruce seemed to be a decent dude through the years.  He is experiencing something I wouldn't wish on the worst of mankind.

The video shows a man capable of enjoying life and happiness. I wouldn't trade that for memories of my career (such as it is). I think I'd celebrate the happiness rather than lament the lost memory. It's not common in my experience.

I'm glad for Willis. All we can really hope for is for things to go as well as they can under whatever circumstances await us.

Well, maybe Barry Switzer.

It is truly a blessing that he doesn’t remember Hudson Hawk. The lord works in mysterious ways.

I will not stand for this Hudson Hawk slander! That movie is a masterpiece!

Check out his IMDB page.  His agent/family were pimping him out for movies that make Hudson Hawk look like Citizen Kane.

Yep. What they did was despicable. And if you dig deep enough, dangerously irresponsible.

Willis wasn't a great actor. But he made the most of what he had & lucked into a couple of damn fine parts. That's any actor's dream.

There are worse ways to go in the end than not remembering your past regrets.

Signs would be just more M. Knight Shamalan shlock w/o Bruce Willis.  He also made Unbreakable good.

I guess Signs was his best role because he just disappeared into pretending to be Mel Gibson.

Lulz.  Without knowing about this thread, I just showed my mom the end of Signs and The Sixth Sense.  When I read @Parliament's post, my brain got really confused.  /wine

He was a great action star and good comedic chops.

Is Moonlighting streaming anywhere?

Just checked. It's on D+/Hulu, which makes sense since it was an ABC show.

As bad as Hudson Hawk was (is), I am not sure that The Last Boy Scout isn't worse simply because he had been involved with one dog shit movie and known to step away from another piece of crap script.
