But too many watching first ball strikes. Getting behind instantly. They did this all last year. I understand not swinging if a first strike is not in your ideal hitting zone but these are fastballs in the middle.

Put Murphy there to have someone on base for the big man

That all gets back to Daly slumping from Day 1.  He was dynamite last year .. just a sparkler fizzle this year.

Pretty easy when you can just not swing when you see slider spin. Can’t throw them that far out of the zone and expect hitters to chase.  They just ignored the slider and attacked fastballs.

Why not Harrison? Im having flashbacks of Kam Fields going out over and over, throwing games away. Pierce has faith, I guess.

Yep.

We're the only team who's terrified of throwing strikes to a .239 hitter.

He’s unable to.  He really has no idea where his pitches are going.

I don’t believe we are anywhere near a championship level squad now (yes Capn Obvious) but stunned it’s the pitching that is costing us games

We have 2… maybe 3 reliable pitchers on this staff. Another 3-4 trash pitchers who have no business at UT and 3 or 4 complete wild cards

Hitters 0-1 almost every AB. Pitchers start 1-0 almost every AB. Been that way since Pierce has been here.

You have to have a pitcher who can come in in that situation and do the job for Tristan.  At least one.  We don’t.  Looks like it lost us the game.
