  • This postseason has become more sentimental for me and my wife's family.  My father in law is the biggest Astros fan I know.  He watches every game without fail, even DVRing them if he can't watch liv

Didn’t matter. Runner was crossing the plate when Maldo caught it.

he needs a harder and longer pregame warm up / bull pen

Just unbelievable how many 1st and 2nd with no outs, where Maldonado bats and the Astros don't score.

So far, he's not the problem tonight.

It’s sub optimal that the Astros have to hit with a guy that’s worse offensively than many a pitcher, yet here we are.
I would love to see the defensive numbers they have that tell them he’s still a plus player overall. They must be spectacular.

He is now.

Someone tell Dusty that he doesn’t need to leave Odorizzi in for five full innings to qualify for the loss.

Maybe we should try to hit more like men and not like little bitches

At what point does Maldonado change the approach? They aren't missing the high FB, yet he keeps calling it. Maldonado's only role on this team is to call pitches, and he's doing a horrible job tonight.

Routine double play ball turned into a hit. Can't wait for MLB to ban the shift.

This is the worst possible argument against the shift.

Tucker will also be a .320 hitter.

Much better.

We may not score 5 runs all weekend....not sure how they are supposed to do it in 4 innings

3 fucking walks

I hope we never do this strobe light homer shit. CWS do it too. I am not epileptic, but not a fan

I think we can end the Pedro Baez experiment:

Maybe we can go ahead and fire Alex Cintron also

Tough evening for the ROI associated with $36M in total guarantees for Baez and Odo

team batting for the season:

.211/.281/.371, good for a 89 wRC+

The good news is that they aren’t striking out any more than the last several seasons (18%). And the .224 BABIP is second-lowest in MLB. So, probably some bad luck. Per Statcast, their expected AVG/SLG is .254/.480.

Is anyone a pro at going to games at Constellation Field for the Space Cowboys/Skeeters? We have family in town and want to catch tonight’s game - 8 guys from the grandparents to the three kids in tow ages 6-9. What is our best bet? Just normal seats and roam the various things to do? Or GA in the grass in the outfield? Or the H-E-B Plaza (kinda pricey)?

Haven’t caught a game out there so appreciate any advice on the best way to experience it with young kids and olds.

Edit: Probably answered my own question re: GA, not great for the olds
