  • This postseason has become more sentimental for me and my wife's family.  My father in law is the biggest Astros fan I know.  He watches every game without fail, even DVRing them if he can't watch liv

I would have guessed 1st ….

it should absolutely count caught stealing and pickoffs, if you're truly counting "outs on the bases".  counting force plays is ridiculous and obviously shouldn't be involved.  it almost sounded like they tried to find the stat that the astros would be worst at, and this was it.  maybe we don't have the worst in the league, but top ~10% is impressive.

we just seem to make a lot of bad decisions stretching to 2nd and 3rd, but mostly sound decisions on going home.  might have to do with analytics/advanced scouting on outfield arms throwing home.  sounds more like a player problem, not a pettis problem.

Damn, I love Tucker but that AB with bases loaded earlier was awful. Struck out "swinging" against an 8+ ERA guy struggling to find the zone, despite never seeing a ball in the strike zone and never taking a full swing. 1 bad called strike and 2 check swings at shit.

If solely for purposes of these rankings, I think every base advanced on an errant pickoff attempt should offset a caught stealing or true TOOTBLAN.

CJ has thrown a lot of innings this year, I'm ok with it.  Will be interesting how they arrange pitcher use between 10/4-5 and 10/11.

He got fucked twice on that AB  Bad strike call and called a swing when he clearly checked it.

He didn't really argue either check swing call, so maybe not as close as you might think.

if you're scoring at home:

maton - since 8/25 - 12ip, 0er, 5h, 4bb, 14k

smith - since 8/19 - 13.2ip, 2er, 10h, 2bb, 14k

not bad for a couple guys fighting for the last spots in the bullpen.

I had to switch the gamecast. Are those called strikes really that far out of the strike zone like it looks on the graphic?

Didn't Altuve hit in the 10th? I know Pena was out, but I thought that meant Altuve would be in 2nd and Diaz batting? Altuve batted 2 times in a row.

No, caught stealing 3rd out means new AB for guy at the plate.  Last AB never happened.

Gotcha. Gamecast said it was a fielders choice
