  • This postseason has become more sentimental for me and my wife's family.  My father in law is the biggest Astros fan I know.  He watches every game without fail, even DVRing them if he can't watch liv

Never in doubt

They’ve needed to do that all season

Yet somehow 95-2 when leading in the 9th. That’s good, right?

Juice box was great today, I got no voice and can’t hear well but it don’t make a shit

Bullpen needs to tighten this shit up.

Without looking it up, haven’t they allowed 1 run in like 8.2 innings?

That’s a fair comment.  The job by the starting pitchers has been so dominant this season it makes the bullpen’s performance seem less adequate.

Yep I was about to comment 1 ER across the first 2 games.

Nice little 7BB, 2R performance by the pitching staff.

Pete Kwiatkowski has time to be the Astros pitching coach?

whose turn is it to send the dodgers a fruit basket?

*muffin

I guess going up 2-0 with Altuve 0 for 8 with a walk isn't bad.

Don't really care that it fell .1 inning shy of the definition of a "quality" start. Valdez worked his tail off and got us almost 2/3 of the way to the finish line in a pivotal game we won 4-2. That was "quality" enough for me.

I don't post during games because every time I did during the season we lost, so I'm refraining... you're welcome. But have to say Yordan may go down as one of the greatest Astros. Also Pena has been clutch. Would love to win Saturday and cruise into the next round.

The Astros should just forfeit the next two games because the Seattle fans said they are going to be mean to them at home

Seattle fans are fucking idiots. We've been having opposing fans talking shit and giving us the business for every road game for the past 3 years. We're not fazed by that shit. Or do they not remember our last road series there this season?

Servais with his bullshit of “that’s just baseball- it doesn’t always go like it should” when we’ve conclusively proven over the course of 162 games against the league and 19 games against his team that we are clearly superior and their only real chance is for “baseball” to jump up and get us.
fuck off loser.

Scotty thinks the lack of an upset is somehow an upset. I think he wore his mask too tight for too long.

All 7 of Yordan’s RBIs with two outs.  Clutchy McClutcherson.

Yeah, we got Ewers

No.

But Pena can!!!

I literally almost posted that and decided against it. What you’d really do is Peña at 3rd, CC at SS and Bregman at 1B.

Waaaat?  You were at home and your dogs were at daycare?  Even if you weren't home, your dogs were in "daycare"?

The fuck is wrong with you man?

Excited Lets Go GIF

Was at the game. What we're watching with Yordan right now is something special. The crowd goes absolutely bonkers every time he steps in the box. You just know he's going to do what it takes when it matters, and then he does. There is not currently another soul on the planet you'd prefer to be up to bat when the game is on the line.

can we sign Judge as well?

Pena was a top 5 SS defensively; Correa was barely in the Top 20. Why are we moving the better defender? Correa could play 1B, his body would age better there anyway.

I felt like going in we need to score 4 to win today.

Maybe didn't need 4, but thank goodness we did.  The ninth was nerve wracking enough.

My one Debbie Downer thought for tonight:

7 BB by Astros pitchers tonight. That has to improve. I know the M's are a well-disciplined team and take a lot of walks, but we can't keep starting AB's with 2 balls nowhere near the zone. I saw my life flash before my eyes when Pressly issued a 4 pitch walk to the 8-hole hitter.

This was statistically the best Astros pitching staff ever, but so far we're having to rely on clutch bats and luck. That dog won't hunt forever.

Correa has the bigger arm. Peña was an error machine. It’s possible that the defensive metrics favored Peña not because he was actually better, but due to something the Astros are doing with positioning or the like. The defensive numbers available to the public are not considered to be stabilized until you get to a 3 year period. It’s possible that CC defense fell off a cliff in his age 27 season, but I’d sort of doubt it. I mean, Correa could play 1B and he’d probably be the best defensive player ever at 1B if he went over there as a 28 year old, but I’d lean toward that being a waste of his talents.

Defense has also played really well both games. But that’s pretty much every Astros game.

It lasted all the way through the 2017 World Series run.
