  • This postseason has become more sentimental for me and my wife's family.  My father in law is the biggest Astros fan I know.  He watches every game without fail, even DVRing them if he can't watch liv

"i beg, whoever is driving the car and if you have a kid in the car... PUT ON NICKLEODEON ... you don't want them listening to this because someone is going to curse and it's probably going to be lance mccullers jr. in about 15 minutes"

What if Hebo decides to switch bandwagons and joins the 2023 Astros thread?

Bring him along, maybe we'll run outta ice

I missed the 2017 parade because my wife wanted to book a trip to Disney world during the world series and harbored that ever since then and it, up until yesterday,  was a sore topic for us. A dream of mine was to attend a world series parade for the Astros with my dad and brothers. That was before I thought about getting married and having kids, you know the good old days.

Well, yesterday my dream came true and was able to do just that. Easily a top 5 day in my life, actually these last few days have been amazing. The highest of highs and super thankful and appreciative of all that's happened. Rides like this don't come along often, at least to teams that I typically root for and I wanted to make sure I was around as much as possible for them.

Game 6 - check

Parade - check

Astros dynasty - check

Some pics from yesterday, half of yall know me anyway so nothing to hide. My dad and Chita, lol.

11 is an interesting number to me right now, and not just for the obvious reason that it took the 2022 Astros and 2017 Astros 11 wins to get the WS trophy.

That  number also represents the incredible dynastic run of the organization over the last six seasons.

There have been 236 MLB playoff games from 2017-2022 and the total number of baseball games played where we Astros fans have been sadfaced like Helo watching other teams play for the title?

11

That is absolutely bonkers and it is yet another numerical reminder how all of us diehard Astros fans will never take this sustained greatness and joyful success for granted.

I’m still digesting what just happened over the last three weeks.

In the span of 13 games we saw:

- A super dramatic 2 out 3-run bomb for a walk-off victory

- An 18-inning 1-0 victory

- A sweep of the Yankees

- A 7-game winning streak against playoff teams

- A fucking no-hitter

- A monster Yordan bomb to ice the championship

- A rookie winning MVP of the ALCS and WS while being the most consistent performer in the field and at the plate all through the playoffs

Not only did the Astros win it all, they did it in spectacular fashion.  Unreal.

Also… remember giving Dusty props for getting win number 2000 as a manager earlier this year?   He now has 2093.

It hit me today Javier is responsible for two no-hitters this year.
the days of one pitcher No-hitters are effectively over and he just set the bar for that type of achievement for one season.

correct, hang that AL pennant  and that mother fucking World Series flag !!!

  • Author

I was at the last WS flag unveiling and it went quite poorly. Given that the parade route this time was 100000x better than the 2017 parade, I can only assume they’ll learn from their mistake of failing to be able to get the cover off the pennant at the climactic moment.

click is getting screwed over, yankees are probably going to extend cashman 5 years / $25mil and he's been a pure failure

Since they are playing the white Sox, should let Blummer raise the flag

Just an object lesson in the basic principle that if your boss gives you very clear guidance on how to go about a task, you better follow it.

Yeah he ain't getting screwed. He should be smart enough to quit at this point.

Fantastic.

8 year old me watched that show religiously every week.

now, 40+ year old me does a pretty good impersonation of Mel Allen and I found myself saying “This is Mel Allen…” when randomly thinking about that show the other day and my now 8 year old saying “daddy, who is that?”

Alvarado outside shoulda told you

The 3 batter minimum has cratered the value of lefty specialists.  Also it turns out that having a whole bunch of good relievers makes things much simpler.

Coaches are so much smarter when their players perform on the field
