The Rockets are slowly building a team of superstar players that nobody likes.

Just stop with Lebron. He's not leaving the East. Best spend your energy on resigning the core of the team, and going after a guy like Tyreke Evans or finally convincing Sergio Llull to come over. Thi

He was called the Brazilian Kevin Durant when he was coming out in the draft...... maybe the exchange rate got him.

Lol really? I love when every white guy from Europe is “the next dirk”. The Brazilian KD. GS isn’t gonna know what hit them.

Regarding the Anderson to Miami rumors....

Regarding rumors about a Heat trade involving Houston forward Ryan Anderson, that’s not something that interests Miami at this time, according to a league source.

Both USA Today and ESPN have floated the idea of Houston trading Anderson and a draft pick to Miami for Tyler Johnson or James Johnson. But while that would appear to interest the Rockets, it’s not something the Heat has found appealing.

Acquiring Anderson would increase Miami’s luxury tax bill, because Tyler Johnson is making $19.2 million each of the next two years compared with $20.4 million and $21.3 million for Anderson.

James Johnson is due to make $14.4 million, $15.1 million and $15.8 million the next three seasons, but the Heat values his skill set.

I'm glad someone else around here remembers Maciej Lampe. Any takers on Jake Tsakalidis?

He's not a bad stash to have in RGV. Guess the Rockets didn't see much future potential with R.J. Hunter who was waived to make space for him.

Morey can't seem to fleece any other team with Anderson and his god awful contract.

Qi had quite an opening game in the Asian Games. 25 points (4-7 from 3pt, 11 shots total), 12 rebounds, 7 blocks, 2 assists, and 1 steal in only 32 minutes.

I am guessing since it's almost September 1 we will hold on to Anderson till at least the all star break. I hope I am wrong and they find somewhere to ship him.

How much is the MLE and who could we sign with it? I see we would offer vet min to melo and Melton, so who would fit that MLE slot? Not even sure who is available we are looking at? Or would we just not use it? Not sure if it’s a use or lose it type of thing.

He is not a bad “innings eater” for the inevitable nagging mid season injuries that come up. He allows them to keep a fairly high level of play during the regular season.  home court will be crucial again in the playoffs if the Rockets are to have a shot.

Also funny to see Draymond at the end arguing with the ref that Harden fouled him by pulling him down after the dunk.

Brandon Knight should do well as the backup ball handler. In D'Antoni's system, he should be fairly reliable from 3.

Dunno what the Rockets do with Chriss though.

wondering if chriss could be the backup 5.  he's definitely no stretch 4.

Capela, Nene, Hartenstein, and Chriss? Can't hurt to shuffle your bigs to keep them healthy during the season.

The same thing they did with Anderson in the playoffs if needed.  Or he could work out b/c Morey.

i'm not really convinced this move does anything for the rockets (besides save some money).  unless a light bulb goes off for chriss, i think melton is the most valuable player in the trade.

Looked up Chriss some more and he actually shoots 3s. I would think his 3 PT % will go up with the Rockets. He's a willing defensive player on a dirt cheap contract through 2021. Hopefully he'll end up being a solid 3&D guy off of the bench.

Bandon Knight is better than Ryan Anderson.

You got a younger PF/C project, a starting PG to backup CP3, and cash.

Surly: "GET RID OF ANDERSON NO MATTER WHAT!"

Also Surly: Can't believe Morey didn't get LeBron and Kevin Love for Anderson.

(hyperbole)

There was no reason to have both Melo and Anderson on this squad. Melo will play the stretch 4. We save s little bit of $$ and maybe Chriss thrives with lobs from the best backcourt in NBA history....

yeah, saying that not seeing how this move really helps the rockets (at least in beating the warriors, which is the only thing that matters) is definitely the same thing as your dumbass lebron and kevin love line.

The Rockets found a perfect partner in the Suns for their yearlong quest to dump Anderson’s salary. But this could just be the beginning of a chain of deals in lead-up to the season. While Knight still has two seasons remaining on his five-year, $70 million contract, his annual average of $14 million is much more palatable in a prospective trade than Anderson’s $20 million. The Rockets are still in need of reliable perimeter players: Knight to the Hornets for Marvin Williams straight up works financially, as does Knight to the Cavaliers for [gulp] J.R. Smith. If Daryl Morey truly sees this as nothing more than a salary dump, perhaps Houston can trade both Knight and Chriss to the Hawks for Kent Bazemore.

Morey is a got damn miracle worker.  kthxbi

Whether we keep these guys or not is unimportant. The goal was to dump Anderson's salary. This was a great move as it gives the Rocket's roster flexibility.

so PHX is on the line for $35 mil next year for Ariza and Anderson? lol Morey you sneaky devil.

The PHX gm is a dumbass btw.

it gives the rockets flexibility if someone is willing to take on brandon knight.  if not, they're in the same spot they were in with anderson but paying less in salary and luxury tax.

Correct, and we still have like 95% of our MLE for the buyout market in February. If the Rockets can develop Capela into one of the top C's in the game, they should have similar success with Chriss.

Someone will take Knight.  He would have been a great addition for the thunder before they got Schroder.  Some guard will get hurt in the first half of the season and they'll be able to move him if they want.

Harden wearing socks to the beach. Classic

Chriss turned 21 in July, is 6'10 and costs less than 5m a year with a team option next year. I think people are underselling his potential, since he hasn't done much in Phoenix. Just check out some of his highlights from last season, he could easily be Capela's primary backup working with CP3 in the pnr. I really hope he works out, cause we need a poor mans Capela on the roster. Nene is still around, but getting old. Need a third C to rotate in, and I think he could do it for 15 minutes a game.

Brandon Knight underwent surgery on his left knee according to Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic.

Charania adds that this was just a "cleanup," but this is the third surgery he's had on his left knee since his ACL tear -- he had another "cleanup" two months ago. The Rockets brought in Knight to reduce Chris Paul's workload, but they may not have that luxury early in the season because there's no word of a timetable.

BK may get a late start to the season....

Ouch re: Bzdelik

Lose out on 2 of our 3 & D wings + now lose out on the switch everything maestro.  That sucks

Rockets do have a trend of following up a great year with a shit one though so I’m hoping that doesn’t continue.
