So then, once again the B12 either made a mistake by back filling now that other Pac12 schools will be available or the B12 is now screwed because the Texas schools are all about to bail

One thing is for sure: it’s Texas’ fault!

Tech, TCU, and BU ain't dumb enough to join a Pac league without USC and UCLA.

Why?

Even without those 2 you are looking at a much better set of peers academically and if we are running towards the super conference era there is no way Oregon or Oregon State gets left out, but can you make that argument about UH?

Oregon will bail with UW in a heartbeat if given the chance.

Maybe the B1G's in a hurry to get to 20?

Seems like Stanford would be a better pick for the Big 10 than USC

Reilly didn't leave to avoid "competition." Are you a fucking sooner fan or something? They're the only ones who believe that nonsense.

Not surprising if you followed the money.

This is heading towards two power conferences and if you aren't in the Big 10 or SEC you're in trouble.

So if you take out UCLA and USC, that leaves Colorado with just Stanford as their California game, which was one the "reasons" they left the B12..

Is BYU a viable option for the Pac12? Should the B12 look at the Zona schools and Colorado only?

Did this just completely screw Memphis and Boise?

Lots of fun questions out there on the periphery on this

B10 can take USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, Stanford, Arizona and create a western division with a Iowa and Nebraska. You then have 2 super conferences and the rest can do whatever wherever cause it is fairly irrelevant.

super league with pro/rel, hey it worked in europe until it didn't!

So where does Oregon end up? Are they gonna try their best to convince the SEC to take them in as well whenever they inevitably add FSU and Clemson?

Looking that way. This will become a trend. Either find a spot somewhere else or get left behind. Now I wonder which other schools will be on the move in the coming years? Clemson? Oregon? Florida State?

ACC/Pac-12/Big 12 are inferior conferences and are dying. I could see teams from those 3 forming a mega conference. I think you have enough solid teams to do so.

So we march closer to two NFL like "conferences" a la AFC / NFC (Big Ten / SEC).

On the other hand, UCLA needs money and this would give them a lot more.

I suspect B1G will take them.

Which brands have the biggest chance of making a move to the Big 10 from the ACC?

Because that's what is coming next.

I read somewhere that UNC and UVA may be at the top of the B1G's list.

Would be nice to see Colorado get screwed out of this.
only thing better would be if Mizzou somehow got hosed

Can't believe Phil Knight would get left out of this.

PAC-Big12 merger gotta be the next step.

If they're looking west I bet UW and UO are on the list. Will 20 become the new magic number? Who would SEC want after FSU and Clemson?

Rock, Chalk?

sad comedy central GIF by Another Period

Duke / UNC / Clemson have the most skins on the wall, followed by the Virginia schools. The rest are up shit creek.

Given that Wilner is the best source on all things Pac-12, I expect to see a flurry of tweets from other sources "confirming" this happening (like the SI tweet above).

Definitely a "defensive" move by the Fox kereitsu led by the Big 10 to ensure that USC/UCLA's wandering eyes stayed in Fox controlled television and not be enticed by the SEC and the Mouse. Fox took a hit losing its share of TX and OU television ratings and didn't want that to happen again as USC and UCLA still garner good ratings when they are good.

Biggest current losers in this are Stanford and Oregon. Oregon thinks it is big boy football, but they'd have to significantly overspend Phil Knights money to attract talent to Eugene, Oregon to play in what would now be a second rate football conference, definitely the worst of the P5. Stanford would also have more trouble propping up its non-revenue sports (which it really cares about) as more talent in these sports might prefer competing in the stronger leagues. Now, the Big10 may decide to also include them at a later point and what I just wrote would be irrelevant but as of this moment, they are the biggest losers in this.

Big 12 needs to move fast to secure the "mountain" teams and move to 16. Point and laugh at CU if that happens as they started this whole f-in thing and for them to end up right back where they started would be some form of poetic justice. Is the new Big 12 with a new commish ready to make this kind of move? Big question.

What is the SEC response to this? Guess the Mouse will have a say in that but is there a move? Does there really need to be? In the words of the great mensch Linda Richmond, "Talk amongst yourselves!"

Does it though?  The western division will be garbage.  The Big 10 will have way too much bread.

What they should do is process Rutgers and Maryland.

Clemson is an SEC school living in ACC country. Them and Florida State make a whole lot of sense. Texas to the SEC broke the idea that the SEC wouldn't take an in-state rival.

ESPN has the ACC broadcast rights, so the Mouse doesn't have to do anything now.

SEC may need to be proactive and look at FSU, Miami, Clemson, UNC, Duke, NC State, UVA, and VaTech before the B1G does. Though still no idea how you have a conference with 24 fucking members.
