Punter stuff about Sanborn

Sorry for an idiots question in this thread but are [typical] punters usually PWO's or scholarship?

So Trejo can go to the PAC-12 and be all-conference?

Are the offers being kept track of anywhere?

I remember seeing a post earlier in this thread that we had offered someone.

But I can't remember who it was.

It was Gavin Holmes, CB from Wake Forest. But most transfers don't announce their offers, so it'd be an incomplete list by definition.

So we're not expected to have our long-term solution at punter until... year 4? That's definitely different. Obviously prefer it being the punter over the QB, but goddamn. Getting a "slight upgrade" over a pretty shitty punter is lame. Like that blurb reads "Yeah he sucks, but he's experienced at it!" Dickson come back bby

There’s a gap between what Trejo was and shitty. His biggest issue seemed to be he was either hitting 50 yarders or 33 yarders with very little inbetween. Sanborn had 1 game this year where he averaged less than 37 yards a punt while Trejo had 3. Trejo’s hang time was also poor. Sanborn’s fair catch % is higher and he is more consistent all-around.

Re: Stanford punter and numbers.  Check out the last column in this PFF dataset.  Better hangtime for the Stanford punter than Trejo.

Andrew Armstrong was a WR Nahlin (IT) had mentioned shortly after portal opened.  Arkansas was Armstrong's first and only trip thus far.  Other two WR's Nahlin has mentioned are Arizona's Dorian Singer and LA Tech's Tre Harris.

Yeah,  the rumor is whit and worthy are coming back so the staff has decided to be picky. They are also going after another high schooler which would be complicated by a large wideout transfer. I think we will wait to see if our wide receiver target enters the portal and stick to one. That all changes if we lose worthy/whit. If that happens, hopefully there is still quality out there verses a filler such as Milton.

It’s just complicated. Getting Whittington back is complicated. Keeping Worthy is complicated. For one of them, you’ve got to raise enough money to beat the NFL expectations. For the other, you have to have enough money to fend off all comers. Then, you have to ride out this entire window and know when it is time to pull the trigger on a candidate because the other candidates aren’t materializing or are being overpaid by others.

The biggest issue is deciphering Evan Stewart. All facets.

Stewart can’t actually be considering coming to Austin. That sounds like crazy pills talk.

He has been telling people that he was coming to Austin. Could all be bullshit and he could be using us to get a raise. We'll see.

Some might say he’d be crazy to choose Texas over other options. It’s not like our QB room is lighting things up.

Was out of cell range for four days. The non portal talk was a massive beat down. But dammit, badmouthing a McCombs degree was too much. My McCombs MBA lifted me out of near poverty as a Night Hawk bus boy (true story bro) to far beyond my meager dreams of prosperity. Eff that poster who called out a McCombs degree.

And cheers to Herbie Hancock by staying consistent and calling people pussie again. This thread needed that. Now back to portal updates.

I got you, fam.

Kids are weighing their options. Can we make competitive offers vs. what they can get in the NFL or from another school?

TLDR: We don’t know shit about fuck. And we won’t know shit about fuck until fuck is known.
