They either get back pieces to win now or draft capital to replace what they lost with him. I would guess if they move him and Kyrie they could either end up an uninteresting 7 seed type with a low ceiling or collect something like 8 or 10 future draft assets.

So what they were without a healthy Durant and Kyrie, and before Harden destroyed their franchise. If they had just stood pat, they would be much better off. Well, at least kept Allen.

They weren’t going anywhere and had no future. Allen is nice but it’s not like he is a cornerstone. There is a reason the Rockets, in the beginnings of a rebuild- said thanks but no thanks.
August 12, 20223 yr They had cornerstones in Durant and Kyrie. Allen was a great fit with those players, as he showed in Cleveland. We said no because he was never going to resign with the Rockets so you might as well get something of value for him.
August 12, 20223 yr Author we said no because we had no interest in paying him $100 million. also i think its funny you say harden destroyed that franchise when the evidence is pretty overwhelming that kyrie is mostly responsible for that.
August 12, 20223 yr Author if kyrie had just gotten vaxed a lot of their issues probably wouldn't have become issues.
August 23, 20223 yr There’s still hope they will do something boneheaded like trade Kyrie for Westbrook. Nash and Durant will have a great working relationship this season regardless.
August 23, 20223 yr Author just need to root for it to fall apart again this season. if that happens, my guess is KD will want out again and there will be no changing his mind.
August 25, 20223 yr Thank goodness that OKC fell in love with Chet early. Why is he playing in a pro/am game? Edited August 25, 20223 yr by HtownHorn

August 25, 20223 yr Isn't that the same type of injury that ended Yao Ming's career? This is not good for Chet, but I do hope he makes a full recovery.

I don't get how people looked at him and didn't realize he was a glaring injury risk the way his body is constructed.
August 29, 20223 yr Apparently Garuba sharted himself during the Euro World Cup qualifier. At least people can no longer say he isn’t producing shit.

Oh, I absolutely knew he was an injury risk, I just would have done it in a heartbeat as I think he has so much upside that you have to roll the dice on him. There's a timeline where this is actually good for them as he sits out, gets healthy and they get to tank another year and it's like adding in 2 top 5/top 10 picks.
September 3, 20223 yr Cleveland is all-in. I'd float Gordon for LeVert and a future 1st and see if they bite. Then look to move LeVert for another pick.

September 5, 20223 yr What’s their current win projection? I could see the Rockets winning around 25 games. Utah might be the worst team in the history of the NBA. We’ll need some luck to land Victor.

Not such a good look for the backcourt though.... 6 of 21 shooting is not going to cut the mustard.

October 11, 20223 yr I imagine the best starting lineup with the current Rockets roster would be: Kevin Porter Jr, Jalen Green, Tari Eason, Jabari Smith, and Alperen Sengun. The Rockets are looking like they could have a solid 10 man rotation to start the season.
