January 20Jan 20 Going to NOLA next week and it's supposed to be 68 and sunny with overnight lows in the 50's. Will be hilarious to hear the locals recount their brush with winter.

January 21Jan 21 -17 at my house. All the schools around here are closed for the day. My dogs are not happy. The one who usually spends 30 minutes outside to start the day was like "nah, I'm good."

January 21Jan 21 I'm back in Winchester. Nothing like that here. We bottomed out around 2-3. And we're in the teens now. Even Vermont was higher than that. Looking at the overnight graphs, it appears the low was -6.
January 21Jan 21 Author Lotsa whining power steering pumps in SD today. And I lost my ether can. Almost didn’t get going at all today.

We were on time, a lot near by went 2 hrs late which no clue what that was gonna solve… the entire state is under extreme cold warning

Unless you're like some private schools in which 95% of the kids get dropped off at the door by their parents, it really just doesn't make sense. Hell, the private school my kids go to fits that description and even we got canceled.

January 22Jan 22 Shit, we're up to 24 degrees. Feels like shorts and tshirt weather compared to yesterday AM.
January 22Jan 22 Was -8 here this morning in PA. It honestly did not feel that cold since there was no wind and the air is bone dry. A friend up N near State College was -18. Edited January 22Jan 22 by The Ace of Aces
January 27Jan 27 Ok not weather, but we had an earthquake roll through here this morning 10:22 AM EST. https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/us6000pmk3/executive Ultra small like 2.5 when it got here - felt like a huge dump truck went by the building. Today - SSSSSSSSSSUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKEEEEEEEDDDDDD About an inch of snow, then followed by rain - everything is covered with that GD heart attack snow. Hope the temps come up enough to melt a lot of it, though I am not holding my breath today for this.

Fortunately, it wasn't windy. It was fine. Just dress for it.
February 14Feb 14 @Al_4_ISU you getting any of the wind today? 25-30 sustained with gusts to 45mph all fucking day.
February 14Feb 14 15-20 MPH here - nothing crazy by our standards. But we're supposed to get a few inches of fluffy snow, so it might be a bit of a headache. I'm sure I'll have to go move snow at the farm in the AM.
February 14Feb 14 Hey now, I grew up cleaning out open-fronted unheated hog barns with an open cab Bobcat 863 that had the roof sawed off to fit inside the barn.

February 17Feb 17 We got about half that and was gonna shovel till I realized frozen precip on top, snowblower it was.

February 17Feb 17 Been dealing with snow squalls last night and today got a shitload of down branches and cones we'll have to deal when it all thaws out.
February 18Feb 18 Yall still alive down there? Heard it's supposed to get a wee bit cold down there. '
February 18Feb 18 In Montana it's currently -6* feels worse with a steady breeze of fuck that I'm not going outside unless I have too, and it takes the truck 2 rounds of remote start to actually get warm. Thank goodness for my two hookers that keep me company.
February 18Feb 18 It’s 0 degrees with 25-30 mph winds here. TV says 5-8” of snow but it’s hard to know. I have a 3’ drift across my drive and can still see the grass in the front yard. IMG_2531.MOV
February 18Feb 18 We've been gusty the last two days. highs in the mid 20s, but windchill is likely single digits. Hopefully returns to normal tomorrow. I'll let you all know what Vermont looks like when we go up this weekend.
