So we will all go see it, and then 5 years later, we won’t be able to remember 95% of the plot?

I don't think having cutting edge CGI is going to be a compelling reason to go to the theater like it was with the first one.

It'll be interesting to see if this can find an audience. Even though the first one made a ton of money, I don't know one person that rewatches it or considered a great or classic movie.

seeing it in 3D in a good theater was pretty cool.

The Disney ride is also cool.  The movie was ... kind of ok.

I’ll admit I fell for the hype of the original when it was in theaters but definitely enjoyed it far less upon subsequent viewings.

The world building is fantastic though and I won’t doubt James Cameron.

Well its basically just pocahontas so...

The first movie was just Dances with Wolves.

I'll watch the sequels on Disney+ or something but not at a theater.

Purposely inviting comparisons to Waterworld was a bold choice.  Let’s see how it pays off for them.

Since they didn't make a Dances With Wolves 2, they had to find another script to plagiarize.

They sure struck while the iron was hot on this

They should have waited 10 more years. Then Gen Z would think it was cool

Lol james camerons worst movie is true lies

pretty sure this will cross the billion mark and be pretty dang good. The first time i saw the first one in theatres, it set the standard for cgi.

dont worry, if you dont like this one, there will be 3 more over the next 3 years to look forward to

Think he's trying to say that True Lies is great and it's Cameron's worst movie, so that gives you an idea of the quality of his work..... At least that's how I took it.

And does he not....

It was shitty tree sex Dances With Wolves.  Beat for beat.

Dammit.  Need to read thread first.

This is really a ploy to bring back 3d glasses again right?  Theaters need a way to charge an extra $10 a ticket to get back on their feet?

First one was bad.  Found myself rooting for the white people.

Probably the biggest disparity for me between my opinion of a movie and its box office returns. I barely made it through one viewing.

I like how the preview also completely avoided the plot. It was 99% kumbaya and here's some advanced military tech we are going to defeat with sticks and alignment with nature.

I mean, I guess.

I'm curious about these.  they've already spent a billion dollars making a few of them.  I wonder if people will still care and still go.  a lot is at stake.

That trailer is some hamfisted Hallmark Channel level sap.

I really think Cameron came up with the title, The Way of Water, first and then had to write a script around it. He couldn’t think of anything and just said fuck it. They live at the beach now.

They kinda bracket the whole Marvel movie era.  But still.  Yeah.  Uninteresting.

I'm still going to see it because I like to see big expansive movies on a big screen and be entertained for 2-3 hours.

Terminator

Aliens

The Abyss

Terminator 2

True Lies

Titanic

Avatar

I mean, I'm going to give it a shot.  I haven't disliked a single movie he's directed.

Is it just me or have the graphics/visuals not improved all that much?

First they copied Dances with Wolves, and now they’re copying Waterworld?

I’ve never seen it.  I win.

Was Colonel Quiditch killed in the 1sst movie?  He was the only likable character.

That’s a lot of money for a movie without many fans.

Don't underestimate the size of the furry fandom.

I wanted to see the movie that was previewed in the first teaser, with the first teaser's music.

These last two teasers/trailers, I'm not that interested in that movie.

Written and directed by Cameron? Yeah, it's gonna be good.
