I was watching a documentary on Jackie Gleason, that whole scene was improv and it was his idea.

Bourdain memories:

Roast poop chute from a wildebeest with bushmen in the Kalahari. The ostrich egg cooked directly on the coals. "There's a lot of dirt and feces in this episode" still makes me laugh.

Eating a durian in some kind of cabana way way away from anybody.

Watching him have Texas brisket.

The food sure as hell was.

And Helen Mirren remains on my list.

This bit below has nothing to do with food, but anytime someone mentions their 'list,' this moment from Trevor Noah (the Daily Show) and Anna Kendrick comes to mind and it cracks me up. She is rather unpredictable and it just steamrolled from the moment she walked on set.

Here's a clip of it (five minutes) and the whole thing is hilarious, but the bit about lists is around the 2:12 mark.

Classic...

Back2Back...

Rep for Jaws.

I could watch "Goodfellas" every day for the rest of my life.  What a film.

Love the way he crams everything on the plate then dumps syrup all over it. Nothing like a badass breakfast spread.

I may be stretching it here but this scene kills me everytime…

All the Sunday dinner scenes in the sopranos. And arties place. That’s the way I are growing up with my Nonna and Mom.

Sunday dinner on Blue Bloods has zero focus on food. They might as well be on a bus.

Bought a ticket to see it at the Paramount on the 29th.

Food scenes. Well done, Wally.

“Leave the gun, take the cannoli.”

I was going to post this in the thread on The Wire but it’s from Treme and I figured it would go better here. Tell me you can’t hear Anthony Bourdain’s voice in this scene (he wrote it).
