May 20, 20223 yr Spoiler 13th fairway, looking south towards the tee The Club 1916 tent. Decent food, free beverages, cold AC I'd like to pilot the blimp. 12th green. In 2007, the tee for the 13th was just to my right, out of frame. I followed Tiger for two days that year, and on Saturday, I was next to the tee. He used a 3 wood, and reached the green in 2. To lengthen the hole, the 13th tee is now on the far side of the 12th green...another hole where you tee off over the green you just played. It's probably at least 100 yards back from the back of the members tees. 12th green again. Note 13 tee up the hill to the left

I don't recall anything overly hideous, but I remember someone with a huge ass logo on their back (no pic) and I've got a pic from the range and someone had on some sweet ass 70's-ish plaid pants. May 20, 20223 yr Spoiler Looking up the hill to the 10th tee 10th hole The group that came by on the 10th; two put their tee shot into the water hazard. This person, whoever it was, stayed dry: Another shot of the 12th green, with the 13th tee in the foreground 18th green. Honestly, photos or the telecast doesn't do the elevation changes on holes 1, 4, 9, 10 and 18 justice. From where I was standing, the green seemed to be 20 feet over my head
May 20, 20223 yr Spoiler 9th and 18th greens 9th green Crossing 18th fairway, looking up at the 18th green Crossing the 9th fairway, looking at the the 9th green 4th green and fairway, with downtown in background Wandered back over to the range
May 20, 20223 yr Spoiler Spieth on the range. This was after his round, and the entire time we were there, he was only hitting his driver and 3 wood. Took quite a bit of time between his shots talking to the guy in the black shirt Rickie Fowler appears to be growing a mullet. 3rd tee. This is on the 9th, I think. Nothing particularly special about the photo, other than three different cameramen were setup to film the tee shot-second shot of whatever this group was. 1st fairway, looking back towards the green. Bonus blimp shot.
May 20, 20223 yr Spoiler 4th green 5th tee, which is another of those tee boxes that have been carved out behind or to the side the previous hole One of the practice greens. Far end of the range is in the distance. The range at Southern Hills is double ended, and they hit from the far end (uphill) today. On Saturday at the PGA in 2007, they hit off to the side of this green, downhill. Retief Goosen was on the range, along with 20 or so other golfers. He picked up a shagbag and went to the far end of the teeing area and dumped out all the balls. His caddie went to the opposite end of the tee area, and Goosen proceeded to hit all the balls to his caddie with a lob wedge....over the heads of the other golfers hitting. It was one of the most incredible things I've seen related to golf, for two reasons. One, no one flinched or cared that someone was taking full swings with a lob wedge and dropping the ball on the other side of the teeing area. Two, every damned ball was within a foot or two of each other.
May 20, 20223 yr Do the PGA Club pro's get to keeping "winnings" in this tournament ?? [emoji53] Sure hope so...I think the club pro’s get to keep their apostrophe but I can’t confirm.

May 20, 20223 yr I’m in Tulsa. Went yesterday and going today. Free fried pies in the 1916 Hospitality tent.

May 20, 20223 yr He’s looking at a different forecast than I am. I’m seeing winds at 15 with gusts up to 28 pretty much all day. Scattered thunderstorms in early evening.
May 20, 20223 yr Yeah, I think that was a bit of hyperbole. There is only a slight chance of damaging winds and hail…a 5% chance for Tulsa tonight.

May 20, 20223 yr I just can't appreciate John Daly. He's a fat fucking slob that rides a golf cart around the PGA.

I don't understand how you can say that like it's a bad thing. I mean, if you want to be pissed at the young John Daly who probably mostly wasted some pretty special talent, sure. If you want to be pissed at this old dude living his best life sucking down heaters and dressed like a clown I don't get that.
May 20, 20223 yr If looking like a run down Santa Claus while chugging Diet Coke in Oklahoma is your best life, then you took a wrong turn somewhere.

For that dude? Anything this side of the grave is his best life. He's lucky not to be dead. He's trailer trash from Arkansas and has had a heck of a ride in life. Probably a 90th percentile outcome for a dude like that, even if there's an argument to be made that he was probably the most talented dude (or at least top 10) on tour for a long time and ended with only 3 (maybe 4?) wins all time (though 2 are obviously majors).

He struggled some with the driver, but got the absolute shit ass end of the draw. Justin Thomas deserves a ton of credit for being where he is on the leaderboard right now. The late/early guys got screwed.

May 20, 20223 yr JT in the lead at -6. Rory will have to go at least 68 to hold outright again overnight.

May 20, 20223 yr Nice par from Rory to start. Spieth found the rough then fucked one off a tree. Tapped in for bogey.

May 20, 20223 yr Yeah, anyone well into the reds are going to have a serious advantage when the course gives it up. JT would have to be the favorite assuming Zalatoris or Cam Smith don't go even lower.
