Like I said, the only thing I've read about them is Fehrenbach's book

you said this twice.  if you actually read that whole book you know more about the comanches than >99.9% of the country.  if you actually read it.

And the part where Gary Busey says “a fucking alien!” But I can’t find a good gifmeme for that.

Assuming this is real, the sequel is set in the WWI trenches.

Even though animated, or maybe because, It looks good...also the original score pieced in there made it even better.

Some subtle Blue Eyed Samari vibes to this. I think I'll give it a shot.

So, it's great?

Perfect medium in which to explore that world. I just hope they don’t make them superheroes. It was always technology that gave the predators the edge, not brute force.

Sounds like a challenge.

Yup.

Fun little Easter Egg at 0:26: Elle Fanning's (android?) character has a Weyland-Yutani logo on her pupils.

That's Elle Fanning? I thought it was the chick from The Acolyte.

Damn you’re right. She does that same eye roll thing that Andy does in Romulus.

There’s another Easter egg in that very first shot [emoji102]

The harvester from Independence Day?

Or

The T-Rex from Jurassic Park?

When they keep the stories smaller, Predator works so much better.

The animation is pretty amazing for those of us who grew up thinking GI Joe/Transformers was the apogee of animated violence.

Fucking awesome.   Loved it.   Viking grandma badass was easily my favorite.

After the story arcs of the three protagonists, they could really dive deep into their technology, culture, how they view those that have bested one of their own.   Damn I hope they make more of these.

Actually, first two stories, awesome. Third stort was corny and felt out of place/wrong tone with the rest. Dude was hella corny. Ending was solid with what they had to work with

I didn’t mind it-if you want to pick something mostly modern they needed a character who wasn’t a commando type, since it’s been done already.

It also accentuates the idea that war fighting has evolved so that individual martial prowess is less important than mastering the technology.  The Predators are skilled at both.

No i agree with ur whole take, just saying the writing didnt match up and cheapened the whole movie a little for me

Well, in support of your argument, it’s hard to top a Viking and a Ninja as your first two protagonists.

Second story was the best (I’m a sucker for anything Edo Japan). Granny wrecking shop and kid climbing out on the wing (among other absurd things) didn’t work for me.

Have we ever seen the Predator win? Not exactly a killer of killers. I’d like to see a story / series where they get a big W.
