Yes. The opening arguments for State are pretty good so far. History of possessive and jealous behavior by KA. Plus he was loaded so she was extra motivated. I am assuming she thought she’d eliminate Mo and things between her and Colin would be just great? Until she got caught. I guess.

Had access to his icloud/text messages and instagram on a laptop at home so he's obviously cheated multiple times and she monitored all of his shit. Dumbasses all around. I wonder if the family is suing Strava for pinpointing her location.

State is now mapping out how Armstrong left Austin on May 14. She ultimately made her way to Costa Rica. State says she used sister's ID/info to book. State says Armstrong got plastic surgery on June 22. US Marshals eventually arrest her in Costa Rica.

It really is scary how nuts like Kaitlin take technology meant for safety (in case something happens to you so people can find you) and used it to stalk and kill (allegedly but I think she’s guilty af.)

As prosecutors unraveled digital footprints, two minutes before she was killed, Wilson messaged a podcaster. Cell phone data also shows Armstrong turned off her cell phone that night; She turned it back on soon after audio captured Wilson's screams and Armstrong returned home.

#311

Be very hard for defense to now pin this on Colin given the timeline of events or that a random person did it. They will try to say her fleeing is not evidence of a guilty mind but whatever. her family is either dumb or in denial or thinks this was somehow justified.

Timeline of night of murder that TX prosecutors give jurors in the Kaitlin Armstrong trial. Wilson and Strickland meet up for a swim and burger in Austin. Strickland drops Wilson off at 8:35-36 PM and gunshots ring out at 9:15 PM, but Colin is home by then.

Will her sister be prosecuted or is she helping the prosecution? Seems like it'd be unlawful to give your sister your passport to flee the country.

Speaking of her sister. I haven’t hear that they are prosecuting her. Doubt she’d be sitting in the courtroom to hear the opening statement?

Christie Armstrong, Kaitlin's sister, is sitting in the courtroom with her family.

#316

Defense doubling down. They maintain it’s a circumstantial case. Can’t prove Kaitlin was there.

Defense attorney Geoffrey Puryear says no witness saw Armstrong kill Wilson; "You won't hear about any camera footage showing Kaitlin Armstrong at the scene of this shooting...Not one captures Kaitlin Armstrong at that scene."

#317
Puryear to jury says, “I want to talk about what you didn’t hear about. You didn’t hear that not one witness saw Kaitlin Armstrong allegedly commit this murder. Not one. Because there isn’t one.” Jones objects saying he is supposed to be showing what evidence he will show.

I look forward to Nicole live updating the Surly thread about her eventual trial for dumping bodies in Town Lake.

I don't crim law - but does the Rule of Witness Exclusion not get invoked before openings in criminal matters? We do it all the time in civil cases so that witnesses don't hear openings and change their testimony to fit.

Good question.  Surely there's an attorney who owns a sports car with vanity plates around here somewhere who knows the answer.  Or if we're not rolling in that high of cotton maybe there's a PD in a cheap suit and a spare two seconds who can chime in.

Crime scene specialists just went over all of the photos taken, fingerprints and the bike.

I’ve been following this guy. He’s great for a synopsis at the end of the day. I was surprised most news sites didn’t mention Kaitlin’s DNA on MO’s bike. I mean…she was just in town for a bit. No reason ever for Kaitlin’s DNA to be on it. She wasn’t framed by a phantom.  Anyway this guy is in court and is up to the minute with testimony and so forth:

The court is taking a brief recess.

Yea he's given the best play by play of anyone there. I can't imagine being the family and suddenly photos of their brutally murdered daughter are being shown in a big screen for everyone in there to see.

Defense is basically on some type of cross contamination kick because her DNA is on Mo’s bike. I get it. They have to put on a defense which is (a) blame the police investigation which was tunneled “unfairly” towards yoga nut (b) blame Colin and creepy incidents that happened at her house (spaghetti at a wall—it was someone other than yoga nut) (c) she was just on vacation because she loves yoga and likes to travel and changed her face because  she was afraid of her rich boyfriend who wasn’t really that into her. I get it. They have to put on a defense. And there might be a dumbass on the jury but honestly. The more they hammer the contamination aspect and police investigation the more it actually for once makes it look like the cops did a good job and zeroed in on yoga but because she did in fact kill Mo out of hatred and jealousy and rage and was stalking her. It all fits together even without a video of her pulling the trigger.

I know there is a gag order but I hope once all the evidence is revealed Kaitlin’s family wises up. They talked a big game. She’s guilty af

VIDEO:Mo and Colin can be seen sitting at a table on the top left of the screen. Different video clip: Moriah exits table and stool, picks up phone. Different video clip: street view, black Jeep passes by.

Yoga nut was stalking Mo and Colin the whole time in person. She wasn’t just using the app to stalk all day and then drive to the place Mo was staying and arrive soon after Colin dropped her off. She was driving around following them actively the whole time. Sad shit. I realize Colin was an idiot but no matter how he strung Kaitlin along while knowing he didn’t want a long term relationship with her, Mo didn’t deserve to die. It’s just unbelievably sad for Mo’s family. I really hope Kaitlin gets life in prison. She’s a POS. At least her deluded family can still visit her.

Colin Strickland is on the stand now. During the whole trial she’s stared straight ahead not taking notes. Soon as he is on the stand she begins to become animated and is talking with her attorney more. Nut.

During break-ups, Armstong would not move out of the house, Strickland says. He says he can't be sure if Armstrong was monitoring his conversations with other women, but he believes so.Says she would confront him about his communications with other women.

#337

Crazy bitch was a ticking time bomb. If it wasn’t Mo it would have been someone else. Even if he’d have ended things and kicked her out of his house this ends shitty I feel like.

Strickland says he first met an unnamed woman in Colorado in late 2020, before Armstrong moved into home. Never intimate, but they would text and he visited in 2021. At this time, he was dating Armstrong.Strickland texted Armstrong in 2021, telling her that he was visiting his…

I'll never understand fugitive fleeing to Mexico. Honestly, they're probably better off hiding in plain sight in the United States.

This bitch was a special case. She was free and clear at an international airport with a valid passport and no arrest warrant. If she had flown to Russia or China, pretty decent chance she wouldn't be extradited.

The Rule is typically invoked, unless one of the parties chose not to. Or forgot to invoke it.

@Nicole44 update please? Is this bitch going to rot or what?

State is still in their case in chief or whatever. Colin Strickland is kind of a douche. He “assaulted” a photographer twice after his testimony. I get he’s frustrated but Mo lost her life because Kaitlin was pissed. He could act less like a butthole.

Two of Kaitlin’s female acquaintances testified today that Kaitlin told them (separate conversations) That she was upset he’d slept with Mo and wanted to shoot her.

She was stalking Mo on some app called Strava. The vandalism that occurred at Colin’s house where Kaitlin also lived was likely caused by her. She signed her sister’s name to the CarMaxx place she sold her car to before fleeing to Costa Rica but crossed it out and then signed with her real name.

basically, she was very obsessive and jealous but there are no eye witnesses that can place her at the murder scene. Her car was circling Colin and Mo that whole time they hung out that day. And obviously was on camera at the murder scene at the time of the murder. He was long gone before the ring camera captured MO’s screams. Kaitlin turned off her phone so they couldn’t track her as well. She was all up in Colin’s phone and accounts as she also handled his business as it pertained to cycling. He wasn’t that into her and they broke up often. She and he would date other people when they were apart. She once dated a NBA player just to make him jealous.
They hung out at some place called the Meteor a lot. Kaitlin was world class pissed he dated Mo briefly when she and Colin were broken up. He felt justified in continuing to contact Mo bc she was becoming a star in her field and he wanted to be a part of her business success. He hid her number under a fake name in his phone.
Cops didn’t treat Colin with kid gloves. they didn’t treat him like a celebrity. They quickly deduced from the evidence he was unlikely to be a killer. The evidence basically led right to yoga nut but the cops still investigated a variety of other people. Once Kaitlin fled I don’t think they looked anywhere else but they had already zeroed in on her.

In short, unless the jury is dumb af she can enjoy life in prison. She might have more sympathy had she murdered Colin. She’s an asshole and a homicidal but. He’s clearly a dbag. He was the motive for murder. What a tragic waste. I wish Mo had never met him. Honestly, it would have been some other girl if not Mo that Kaitlin would have killed at some point. Kaitlin comes across as a possessive nut and didn’t seem to get he was just using her until someone better came along.

Defense did score a couple of points today:

1) Police never really searched Colin’s computer. It is an impossibility for him to have been at the murder scene when Mo was killed (shot three times) but still  🤷🏻‍♀️

2) The ME did take a vaginal swab from Mo at autopsy. The police didn’t ask for that to be forensically analyzed further. Colin said under oath that he was not intimate with Mo that day or was intimate with her during her Austin visit. Police said she had been eating chocolate and scrolling through her phone right before she was shot. Spitzer, the cop who testified today, said he didn’t see the need. No signs of sexual assault and no appearance of sexual activity. She was found fully dressed. Based on cameras that caught Colin’s motorcycle dropping Mo off and leaving there would have been little if any time for that to have occurred.

3) any points the defense might have scored (the whole “cops were focused on our client too early and had tunnel vision” were basically destroyed hy the femal friends of Kaitlin’s talking about her wanting to kill and thinking about killing Mo. that and her searching Strava to locate Mo around 6 times in the hours/days before Mo was murdered.

Basically, they can show it was Kaitlin’s account that accessed it. The defense seems to be doing everything they can but think from what people who are in court and posting online, the jury is starting to get annoyed. Like their big theory is a phantom did it or Colin is some kind of douche magician that is framing her?

Can say that Colin’s demeanor in court sucked. Lots of can’t recalls and don’t remembers and he is very lucky there are street cameras and other stuff that can show he couldn’t have been present when Mo was killed. Multiple times was asked not to mumble and speak up. Again I get it is uncomfortable for him but he could act with a little class and dignity. Mo is dead and everyone is under a gag order and Mo’s family has had to sit through this crap and act with dignity. He’s a grade a douche bag and it’s hard to fathom why a brilliant young cyclist is dead over this fucker.

This is pretty much what is keeping the Defense from trying to pin the murder on Colin:

At 10ET/9CT, @NewsNation will be airing the audio/video of the moment prosecutors say Mo Wilson was shot to death. You can hear Mo Wilson scream and then three gun shots.Despite the gag order and seal of all evidence, the video was leaked. The court today gave NewsNation…

Obviously you can’t listen to the video yet. It hasn’t been posted.

Phone data, car data, ride app data, dna. She’s toast. The state’s punishment evidence will be good. Call it 50 years in Travis county. Other counties, my money would be on life.

#349

Closing arguments could begin as early as tomorrow. Doesn’t appear the defense will put on many witnesses. Once the closing begins it will be televised. Today was another great one for the prosecutor. Showing Armstrong’s phone and car pretty much in synch until she turned the phone off. The timeline of her car/phone and his phone/motorcycle basically show it had to be her. No one else. No phantom framing her. Not Colin killing Mo. not some random person killing Mo.

If she’s found not guilty the jury is peopled with dumb fucks.

This is a Travis County jury. That dumb fucks conclusion is most likely true, regardless of their verdict.
