April 10Apr 10 Disney dropped this season 1 recap. We’re gonna try to squeeze in a rewatch before season 2 debuts. But this suffices for now.
April 10Apr 10 Let's just say that given the themes explored in season 1 that season 2 is dropping in during uhhh interesting times.
April 10Apr 10 In the middle of the heist during the eye right now on the rewatch. I'd forgotten just how much ground season 1 covered.

Nemek's speech is upsettingly salient. It makes me sad to see surlyites supporting our real-world PORD. "It's so confusing isn't it? So much going on, so much to say, and all of it happening so quickly. The pace of oppression outstrips our ability to understand it and that is the real trick of the imperial thought machine. It's easier to hide behind forty atrocities than a single incident."

April 11Apr 11 There's a Mando and Grogu moving coming out in May 2026. Is the show continuing after that is anyone's guess. Ahsoka is getting a 2nd season. That's probably it for Star Wars TV for a while. Tony Gilroy mentioned that there would be no Andor without the Mandalorian and Grogu and how Kathleen Kennedy and Bob Iger both protected Andor the entire time it's been in production. Pretty obvious when you see Andor cost more than any other Star Wars movie. So let's enjoy it while we can. There won't be another one in today's financial climate and clamping down of budgets.

April 11Apr 11 Correct. I believe Iger wanted it to be a movie instead of another season like he did with Moana 2. I'd imagine the strikes played a hand in that as well.
April 11Apr 11 Star Wars can be done after this as far as I’m concerned. This is as good as it gets. There won’t be anything better than Andor. I hope I’m wrong but I just don’t see how anything could be bette than this has been.

It maybe a good move. Another Mando season probably wouldn’t move the needle much on new or returning subs since those fans probanly subscribe year round, but if it makes a few hundred million in theaters from Mando fans, it pays for itself before it hits D+. I hope I’m wrong but I just don’t see how anything could be bette than this has been. It's really not hard - stop putting fucking space wizards in everything. You seriously have 3 intergalatic civil wars across 9 films. There isn't a need to focus solely on the mythos of the galaxy. Of the recent stuff, their best properties kind of focused less on the mythos of a Galaxy Far Far Away and more about the grit. Andor - duh. But look at the Mandalorian, their best stuff is when they focus less on Mandalore and really focus on Din Djarin doing his bounty hunter stuff and fighting the empire. I feel like they throw Jedi in and the vocal fans aren't satisfied. Too much this or too much that, girl jedis are icky! This guy is not Jedi enough! Etc. It just seems to get them in the weeds. April 12Apr 12 I’ll probably watch Skars’ monologue again, but I want to go in fresh. Need to make some home entertainment upgrades before it drops.
April 13Apr 13 I’m on “The Axe Forgets” now. I just keep thinking this can’t be as good as I remember from my last rewatch, but it is! It is absolute perfection!
April 13Apr 13 10 Ways that Disney could Ruin Andor for Everyone Introduce a new kid-friendly character who only says "Coogoo Gaga!" in every episode. Have no overarching plan for multi-episode storylines Episode that undermines everything the Rebellion stands for to deconstruct standard tropes Reel back from 2a by going too far, nothing but fan-service Replace standard bad Star Wars writing with Even Worse Star Wars writing; no character behavior makes sense other than "because the plot requires them to do this now" Try to work Harrison Ford in as Solo somehow, even though he's 50 years too old for the role Try to work Solo in with some actor who isn't Harrison Ford CGI Young Harrison Ford Expand the series by using time travel (The "Star Trek Discovery" approach) The Empire Really Isn't So Bad Now! What's wrong with these Rebellion punks? Special Musical Episode And Now A Very Special Episode where Captain Antilles' best friend's son turns out to be addicted to Pog Collecting. Challenging and educational for the whole family! Have Dave Filoni do that thing where the first several episodes are world building before things get good, but stop before he gets to the "things get good" part Yuuzhan Vong Cameo Edited April 13Apr 13 by Rimbo

World between worlds is a completely different facet of Star Wars from what Andor has been exploring. I hope Andor keeps mysticism and the mytho-poetic on the shelf - I think they will. There's a nice added benefit that the show has a very definite ending and knows where it's going. I'm cautiously optimistic and 10000% looking forward to basically four feature length films in a row.

April 18Apr 18 Doing a rewatch with my older child before next week's premiere. We just watched The Eye. She is loving it and doesn't know what's still in store for her. Edited April 18Apr 18 by mdmost
April 18Apr 18 Just finished my season 1 rewatch. I was trying to find some extras on the Disney site to tide me over until Tuesday, but I didn't see anything. It would be cool to have some "making of" features, the Bix solo masturbation scene, or some director's commentary.

So season 1 of Andor was fully 5BBY, and episodes 1-3 are 4 BBY, 4-6 are 3 BBY, etc etc Gonna be very interesting, I can't wait
April 19Apr 19 I have a feeling there's no middle ground with this one. Between our old asses and the fan Bois it will be under intense scrutiny. Water is wet

That's followed by some visuals of grown up Jyn in her cell and then what it likely leads into is the 3rd scene of R1 where we first meet Cassian strolling through whatever that asteroidish city is where he gets the intel on Bohdi, the weapon that Bohdi is rambling about, and the existence of "Erso" and then kills the informant to leave no loose ends (how very Luthen of him).
