He is now, but hasn’t always been. There have been multiple instances of him wanting exactly what Andor is giving; a gritty and brutal adult depiction of the empire. And now he wants to complain about the SA scene and use Vader, the guy who choked his pregnant wife and massacred younglings, as an example of why it is wrong to portray such a thing. The empire is inherently evil, which means it is going to have evil people doing evil things. Vader might not be raping rebels, but he sure doesn’t mind torturing or choking people to death.
The guy is constantly contradicting himself in an effort to pander to his smooth brain followers.

probably because his dick got burnt off

Saw something and wanted to get the nerd consensus. Someone said Andor is the first time a timeline has been written into the show, such as BBY4. I know that the Battle of Yavin is the BC/AD signifier of year in Star Wars lore. I've just never seen it listed on the actual screen. Wife had to ask what BBY meant. I then impressed her with my nerd knowledge.

Wow, did not expect Disney to show anal.

Good thing I'm screening this before my middle-schooler watches it!

Edit: Never mind, wrong show.

I think if the empire on this show can be diluted to a single sentence, and if everybody goes away thinking just this it was worth it, the empire won't leave you the fuck alone, you can run you can hide but they will seek total omnipresence. Hiding in Niamos won't help, hiding in a backwater rural world won't help, you either fight or collapse fighting.

Yes, I believe season 1, episode 1 of Andor was the first time BBY was on screen.

I assume y'all didn't finish the episode because she was jumping your bones.

Mon Mothma.

Mon Mothma: Hottest woman in Star Wars. Best character in Star Wars.

'Andor' star Genevieve O'Reilly on Leida's 'pretty brutal' response to Mon Mothma before wedding

Another particularly interesting development in Andor Season 2 is Luthen Rael's (Stellan Skarsgård) relationship with Kleya Marki (Elizabeth Dulau), his assistant. There's a compelling development in the second season where we understand he has a sort of responsibility to her.

"When we started filming Season 1 we didn't know about Season 2, and Tony had some vague ideas about flashbacks, and he had some shitty ideas too," Stellan Skarsgård said. "But we sort of winged a relationship in Season 1 and Elizabeth Dulau mainly did it, because she holds her space."

---

"I think Tony and his team are just very interested in history," O'Reilly added. "I think Tony has spoken himself about this being a platform for him to mine everything that he studied about history and revolution, and what's interesting about it."

Disney knows their audience.

This is 10 minutes of Mon Mothma raving and having a blast extended into an hour,

Wait, no, this is the most miserable 10 minutes of Mon Mothma’s life extended into an hour, and could be the most gut-wrenching 10 minutes of Star Wars extended into an hour.

Finally watched the new episodes.

My only complaint would be the inclusion of a couple of alien background characters when Gilroy purposely didn’t include any in the first season. Felt like Disney interference.

There were lots of aliens on Ferrix. The helpers in the shop, the big guy that was there to help collect money from Cassian, the Garindan at Marva’s funeral. Off Ferrix there were the two giant aliens that got them off the prison planet. Miami Star Wars had a bunch. I doubt Disney interfered at all with anything. The budget speaks to that.

Alien background characters, like on chandrila? Would they not be fellow senators, who came to the wedding of the daughter of a fellow senator?

Rewatched the last two episodes of Season 1 - ready for Season 2.

SIAP... There are a lot of season summaries on YouTube. Any recommendations regarding the best one?

My plan is to watch the summary and then the last two episodes of season 1 (as previously mentioned)

I thought this was a good one.  I watched this last weekend before the season started even though I did a full re-watch of season 1 a few weeks ago.

a wedding that is 3 episodes long.  Geeze get on with the bullshit.

The emo crap is a beating.  Maybe I should be laughing at comic relief while mommy's boy is about to get pegged.

Maybe you should watch something else.

I like the scenes that  have Cassian and/ or Bix/Brasso in (Kansas.)  The political/ familial bullshit sucks.  It's slower than fuck and there's about 2 people who are actually interesting.

Don't worry slorch. There will be car chases and explosions coming soon enough. I know scenes where you have to think are difficult for you.

Jesus…go watch the prequels, OT, and the sequels if you want just want to be visually entertained. You’re shitting on exactly what makes Andor the best Star Wars ever. Maybe this isn’t for you, and that’s OK.

The wedding is people walking around giving each other dirty looks.

Sorry I missed the notice that this flick was Dynasty 2.0.  So fucking compelling.

They just wear you down. You get bored, frustrated, fall asleep, and they've alienated you.

Like I said, maybe this series isn’t for you. There is nothing wrong with that. The Phantom Menace is on Disney Plus as well.

It wasn't 2/3 of the movie.  There's also about 32 significant character plays during that sequence.  Andor's are shit.

thanks for making my point.

is Tony Gilroy a golf nut?  or one of the other writers? maybe this is covered in one of those YouTube Easter egg videos for Andor, but one of the dudes from the Ministry of Enlightenment is named Dee Shambo.  i mean, come on.

I have enjoyed the show.  I just didn't care for the boring drawn out bullshit.  Move the fuck on.

For some folks on here evidently an ounce of any criticism means you hate everything.  Gotdammit to hell.

and if I hurt my thumb, I'm not going to ask you to kick me in the nuts( Phantom Menace) to make me forget my thumb.

You nerds would have killed it on that quiz.  Also, would have found a way to argue about every correct answer.

95% of the conversations taking place at the wedding have important meaning behind them, advancing the story and characters. Mothma getting essentially held hostage by her childhood best friend because her clandestine efforts are hurting his own investments. Or Luthen basically telling Mothma he’s going to eliminate her childhood best friend, and mocking her because she doesn’t fully understand the gravity of the situation. Watching a bunch of dudes play rock paper scissors was more boring than any conversation at the wedding.

That was my only complaint about the first 3 episodes. We've already seen enough of Cassian being a prisoner and/or an indentured servant. An episode and a half waiting for him to inevitably outwit those feckless morons was a bit much. I understand wanting to show how new and disorganized the rebellion is, but making them Curly, Moe, and Larry was an interesting choice that didn't add any drama, interesting characters, or humor.

Yeah that group went from common goal to warring factions a little too quickly. Did seem a little forced but it did get the point across. I think what annoyed me the most was the bad acting from that group compared to the phenomenal acting we see in the rest of the show.

That’s what happens when a leaderless group of dorks are faced with a crisis. I thought it was a great metaphor for the rebellion needing a strong leader to keep from ripping itself apart so easily at the first sign of adversity
