I thought it was a great metaphor for the rebellion needing a strong leader to keep from ripping itself apart so easily at the first sign of adversity Based on what we know or can guess due to the timeline involved, shit's going to probably get real in the next 3-episode drop, and we'll see these smaller groups that are misled or mismanaged or just incompetent fall by the wayside (and even be sacrificed) in favor of people/organizations that are competent and 100% dedicated.
April 28Apr 28 Yeah the worst thing an opposition group can do is rip itself part bc it’s leaderless and you have warring factions. Wait I saw that season last year. It sucked. You lose every time

Gilroy is obsessed with history and revolutions, as said by many of the actors in several interviews, and I have a lot of faith - he started and then brought a lot of arcs to a close last week that were clearly meant to get us to the brink. I think last week's episodes are the last of "normalcy" we see in Andor - I will not be surprised if this week's episodes are Mon Mothma becoming the head of the resistance, because we will only be a few years out from the Battle of Yavin. Spoiler I won't even be surprised if Mon Mothma gives her famous speech in the first episode this week.

Meaningful dialogue and plot lines are what make this show so good.

April 28Apr 28 Also if you don't like the show, or the way it is written, or that it is not pew pew light saber battles, why are you starting, and continuing, to bitch about it in a thread about the show? It is the most Derka-esque "omg look at me!" post I've seen on the TV forum since Derka's Ted Lasso rants. It truly rivals the Helo/rage shit in TLOU thread right now.

April 28Apr 28 Gilroy HAS shown to have the occasional slow start. That was a common take about Rogue One on initial release. But he rewards your patience with a stunning second half, and those things that seem slow on the first watch become revealing on the second and third. I generally don't make up my mind about a thing until I've finished it. Ride until the end, and see what the ending tells you about the beginning. That's why, when your shit really stinks, I get furious. (glares at The Acolyte and anything written by Heinlein) But even if you're not wired that way, I think Gilroy has earned our patience. Why cannot that exchange just happen without the namecalling or callouts? I did not do that. Others did. I commented on the show. Others commented on me. They can fuck right off. I've watched 15 episodes and intend to continue. Heaven forbid we don't all agree on something going forward. I won't interupt the echo chamber again. Lesson learned. Edited April 28Apr 28 by Iceman

Did seem a little forced but it did get the point across. I think what annoyed me the most was the bad acting from that group compared to the phenomenal acting we see in the rest of the show. Nah, they were in-conflict from the outset. It just came to a head there as the stress of a lack of leadership, starvation, monsters, and inability to escape presented themselves.

April 28Apr 28 Look Slorch. I have no issues with you and have never given you grief about anything even when I disagree with you. But you came into the Andor thread and talked about not liking some of the most important scenes in the entire series. You talked down the things that make this series so different from anything we’ve seen from Star Wars before and the thing we like so much about it. Hell, you even dismissed Skar’s contributions to this series which have been off the charts good. His speech from last season is some of the best written and acted scenes I’ve seen. So yeah, you’re going to catch a little flack from the posters in this thread that are as into this show as much as we are.
April 28Apr 28 Rex vs. Slorch is the battle of bull-headed old Texans that I never know I always wanted. Everyone shut up and
April 29Apr 29 Gilroy was interviewed on the Ringer’s The Watch last week. Of course, he’s a very interesting guy. Sounds like they went all out on the Ghorman episodes, but had to make some cutbacks beginning in S2 E9. He didn’t spoil anything past S2 E3. I’d encourage the thread to give it a listen.

In his interview on The Watch, Gilroy says it was inspired by a drunken dinner party. His son and niece’s husband were talking shit to each other all night. Gilroy thought it was great, and cast them both for the episode.

April 29Apr 29 Gilroy basically going down the line of rebel factions that Saw Gerrera references in S1.We saw a group of Maya Pei neo-republicans, we know the Ghorman Front will be in this next arc as Dedra said they need a rebel cell on Ghorman that will respond exactly how they need to explain away the impending occupation(and massacre we’ve always known about).
April 29Apr 29 i wonder if we'll see Mon Mothma give a live action Declaration of the Rebel Alliance after the Ghorman massacre. right now, we just have the animated version from Rebels. i'm gonna say no. i doubt Gilroy will lift something directly from Rebels. i bet they dance around it and either show her just about to deliver it or reaction shots from Cassian's crew to the speech (with just audio of Mon Mothma).

April 29Apr 29 Five and a half more hours!! Can’t wait. I’m taking a nap when I get home so I can stay up to watch all 3.
April 29Apr 29 The wedding plot line was slow. The rebel spat plot line was a little dumb (rock paper scissors really?), the Bix plot line was best. These are fair assessments. I still love it and can’t wait for more (and am on the road for work, annoyingly).

Who we saw in ep3 talking to Luthen about his mom being Naboo.
