May 14May 14 So in E10 did i miss where exactly Luthen was when he found Kleya. Shout out to Lake Como....I mean Naboo. I like where Cassian in 12 is like "yea I saw him a year ago....you remember when he got me to save Mon because your bullshit crew was infilled" K2S0 is so much better with the world weary comedy than 3PO ever was.
May 14May 14 No after credits scene… but watch the credits to the end. The score changes and, well, it’s perfect.
May 14May 14 Luke drops two proton torpedoes down the exhaust port because Dedra accidentally got some files. Just a phenomenal series from start to finish. Another R1 viewing is in order, maybe tomorrow. Edited May 14May 14 by Radical Larry

We had planned it for Friday but I can't wait. Perrin moved on to Sculdin's wife. Nice. Kinda shocked it all didn't blow back on him but I bet they saw just how slothful and non-threatening he was. I just lookes up the actress who played Sculdun’s wife hot
May 14May 14 Gilroy answering some questions about the finale. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/andor-finale-twists-tony-gilroy-interview-1236212162/
May 14May 14 There's so many erection inducing scenes. My favorite is K using that sniveling ISB twats body as a shield. Face forward, neck snapped at 90 degrees, just getting rag dolled around to catch blaster fire.
May 14May 14 God fucking dammit this was phenomenal tv. Im so mad it’s over. A lot of people will miss out on this cuz Star Wars “spinoff”, sucks to suck. This might have been the first time I saw Krennic as genuinely intimidating. I would like to subscribe to Nemiks Manifesto given our current uhhhh impending climate. Edited May 14May 14 by Hank_Hill

What prompted Galen Erso to send his pilot defector with the hologram within days of the Dedra-Lonni-Luthen security compromise? Both things had to happen. If Erso hadn’t, the rebels wouldn’t have put the pieces together that there was the design defect and to go to the data archives on Scarif for the plans. OTOH, if Dedra hadn’t “scavenged”, Lonni hadn’t spied, and Luthen/Kleya/Andor hadn’t got the info to Yavin before Erso sent his hologram to Saw, Saw wouldn’t been like WTF? and leaders on Yavin would’ve been clueless until the first planet got destroyed.
May 14May 14 On the agenda for today. Gilroy rejoined The Watch podcast to talk about the finale. https://open.spotify.com/episode/2dk1Heftbgeb64ww3kO5Xi?si=274a2a595ad84c76 Edited May 14May 14 by mdmost

May 14May 14 I binged this entire series over the last 5 days/nights. Holy shit, what a TV masterpiece. Maybe the best world building I've seen on screen. I'm sure it's been mentioned a million times, but the restraints the writers/creators implemented regarding the Star Wars universe was brilliant. No lightsabers, not a mention of a Jedi or Vader, no appearance from Palpatine...using those rules freed them up to tell a captivating and incredible character driven story. What a triumph.
May 14May 14 Popular Post Also I know it was written way before 2025, but of course, Dedra knows the Death Star plans because she got accidentally CC’d on an email / added to the Signal chat

May 14May 14 Just now, Js1 said: So good as well Lots of good 1v1 scenes, but also Cass vs the rebellion leadership. Bunch of useless politicians. They carry that same uselessness in Rogue One. It was pretty poetic that Partagas was listening to Nemik's manifesto that was spreading everywhere and wondering who it was while realizing it was already too late.

The council never really trusted him, and he them. Good for Gilroy showing us the beginning of that in episode 12. May 14May 14 I don't normally buy them any longer but I hope Pablo Hidalgo makes an Andor sourcebook. I would buy that in an instant.

I didn't immediately rewatch any of these scenes, except for Krennic v Partagaz, and it was entirely to watch Anton Lesser's performance. Now here's a guy (/Collinsworth) in Partagaz who keeps the Empire going. He's efficient, no-nonsense, competent, and deals with a room full of backstabbing ambitious sycophants amazingly without ever raising his voice. And here he is, raising his voice just once before bringing himself back under control. Finally panicking because he knows he's done for, if not the entire ISB.

May 14May 14 This may be a massive overreaction and recency bias, but is Kleya the consistently best Star Wars character outside of Han and Vader (ignoring the Anakin part)? Has to be top 5, right?

May 14May 14 12 hours ago, mdmost said: Add to this, Gilroy is only there because Kathleen Kennedy and others thought Edwards director's cut was shit. So she hired Gilroy to clean it up and it became what it is. Then she offers him a chance to write a treatment for a K2SO/Andor buddy heist series which she agrees to let him change to what we have now. Then she and others all the way up the Disney chain just let him go with very little restrictions outside of budget, which they also leave mostly up to him to work within. All of this is why we have to appreciate this series. This is our Star Wars black swan. It will never happen again. I like Filoni but he has no interest in this. Nor does Favreau. They are good at what they do but it's not this. On The Watch, Gilroy said he wrote a 7-8 page letter to Kennedy detailing why they shouldn’t make Andor. And she did it anyway. Good for her and I’d love to read that letter.
May 14May 14 Bix Spoiler That final scene ripped my heart out. Being a father and a husband wasn’t Andor’s destiny. His destiny was to die on that beach on Scarif.
May 14May 14 5 hours ago, Hank_Hill said: This might have been the first time I saw Krennic as genuinely intimidating. It’s sort of the bully (Imperial) way. King Kong badass to anybody else “below” them. Sniveling bitch when confronted by a more powerful superior. Dedra actually broke that mold to some extent which I thought lead to a good subtle commentary on the juxtaposition between an authoritarian and free society. Cassian is a hero for being bold, thinking for himself and going rogue. Dedra found herself in a prison cell.

I think from an emotional aspect, Syrill and Dedra scene where he snaps and puts his hands around her neck threatening to kill her is brilliant. The guy lost everything late in this journey including his identity while Cassian was on the opposite arc, gaining and strengthening his identity and role.

Or are they just biding time and looking for any excuse not to act because they know they are still too weak at this point to put up much of a fight. This would be like Chamberlain hearing about the Nazi Nuke program while reading a report about the readiness of the UK forces.

I think they’re too cautious and don’t understand how ruthless the empire is. Boy that sounds familiar They also don’t trust Luthen (or Saw) because they don’t play by the senate’s decorum rules they’re used to. Oh god that sounds familiar too Rebel leadership is playing by one set of rules, the empire another and the Luthen and Saw factions recognize that

Andor gets a kill order for Galen Erso from Draven. It wasn't oh just rescue him like you'd expect from the OT rebels. It was more Han blowing away Greedo. May 14May 14 Her seamless movement through the hospital laying waste and capping motherfuckers without breaking stride like a fucking ninja. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.100% and then that scene in the apartment with Cassian was even better in that light. She is extremely competent, but basically killing her father figure and exhaustion caught up with her and she is almost manic. She’s finally broken and lost control but is still able to get them there and communicate what she needs to. Just an impressive operator and great performance. She does all of the things.

Andor s2e12 really places the ball well for Rogue One's game winning field goal, I'll say. There's a little delay before you see that because you have to meet Jyn's childhood friend Saw first, but... that first scene with Cass is much more meaningful now.
