Evidently there is a deleted scene that better explains Perrin and that scene. Supposedly Perrin was getting questioned often by the ISB and covered for Mothma every time. When Mothma was making her speech the ISB ordered Sculdin to cut the feed because he owned a broadcast station, and he refused. Both explanations totally change the scene with Perrin and Sculdin's wife, as both have lost their spouse to the rebellion. https://youtu.be/f6D4-Qjs-Io?feature=shared
June 6Jun 6 Quote The story goes that in a previous edit of the Andor S2 plot, Senator Mothma's Speech was broadcast live to the Republic. Davo Sculdun had a more prominent role in S2 & he owned the Republic broadcast service Mon's speech was being viewed on & was told to shutdown the broadcast to the galaxy. Mon however had compelled Davo to keep the feed on so he refused & the Empire was forced to shutdown the Senate feed at the source - which is what we all saw. This was all cut from the script... however in a surprise twist, all of this STILL HAPPENED off camera & Davo disappeared after refusing the Empire's wishes... leaving Runai on Coruscant, just like Perrin was left when Mon left. So the 2 took a car home together since neither's spouses were coming back... & they got drunk.

June 6Jun 6 I finally finished Andor earlier this week. It’s the best Star Wars content since 1981, by far. And unlike pretty much all Star Wars media since the original trilogy, it enhances rather than undermines the original story and characters. Just a phenomenal series that added well-crafted depth and weight to the lighthearted hero adventure of the OT. The only downside is that this will get my hopes up and I’ll probably end up enduring several new shittastic movies or series that suck as bad as Obi-Wan and the sequels. Andor -> Rogue One -> Original trilogy tells an interesting story. The rest is lame fan fiction and I assume it never happened. Canon is subjective. We don’t have to accept a bunch of hacky horseshit just because Lucas or Disney rubber stamped it.

June 6Jun 6 On second watch, you really get to see Saw's descent into paranoid schizophrenia, both from actual threats and from... well, huffing.

If you haven't seen Rebels, you're denying yourself one of the best Star Wars things ever. There's a reason Gilroy kept his story in line with that show, even when he discarded other canon events, particularly when Kennedy was saying "yes" to everything he asked for.
June 7Jun 7 Rebels and several arcs of Clone Wars for sure. Those last few episodes of Clone Wars in particular. Of course you have to have been invested in the characters already for the full impact.

The early Vader comics are pretty great too, they fill in the shit storm that was waiting for Vader between ANH and ESB
June 8Jun 8 I had forgotten how great the scene is when Andor goes to see Luthen at the shop. Luthen is constantly pushing Andor to be better for the rebellion.
June 9Jun 9 I’ve just completed another rewatch of the entire series and I have to say, this is my favorite show of all time. I loved Sopranos but hate the kind of people I was made to feel sympathetic to. I love Ted Lasso, but it has a silliness to it that just doesn’t work in the real world. This is just different. This hits on several levels. It’s an absolute masterpiece in story telling.

June 9Jun 9 https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/story/star-wars-andor-mon-mothma-dance-meme Mon Mothma’s AndorWedding Death-Dance Is the Song of Summer “Niamos!” was designed to show a revolutionary’s emotional spiral after consigning her dearest friend to assassination. Now it’s a party meme.
June 9Jun 9 Watching Andor S1, The Eye. It would have been so perfect if Cassian, upon learning Teramyn was a Storm Trooper, uttered, "Fuck, he can't hit shit with that blaster." Enjoying the rewatch bigtime.

June 10Jun 10 Finished season 2 this weekend and followed it immediately with a Rogue One rewatch. Obviously a few points that didn’t entirely match but they could be explained. I do wish they had shown us a few seconds of Kino Loy and Cassian’s sister if only to tie up those loose ends. I can understand not having cassian know their fates but why not the viewer since we learned about them along the way. In rewatching Rogue One, my favorite SW movie, it now pales in comparison to Andor. It’s also strange watching Andor/Rogue One knowing that Andor ends a week or so before Luke blows up the Death Star. They probably hadn’t cleaned out Cassians locker by the time Luke was suiting up on Yavin.

June 10Jun 10 Just try it. Rebels has a little bit of a rough early start with Ezra but once it hits its stride it is some of the best content Disney has made. It feels like the OT. Mandalorian cribbed a lot off of this show.

June 11Jun 11 I didn't think I'd like the animated shows, but ended up watching Rebels and most of Clone Wars. There is a bunch of background stories that are not detailed in the regular movies or series. I found a list of the essential Clone Wars episodes and skipped the rest. Might have been posted on Surly somewhere.

He either died trying to swim away or was quickly re-captured and killed to cover up the escape; either way he's dead. Cassian's sister doesn't need to be seen again because she was also lost in time and it would be pointless to show her if she's even still alive. Her absence was a bigger presence in the show because it drove Cassian to constantly try and save others. Not to mention we only ever saw her as a little girl, so showing some random grown up version of her at the end of the show wouldn't make much sense because you'd need some clunky dialog explaining who this random person we've never seen before is.
June 11Jun 11 Why didn't the Empire have any of these droids on the Death Star? Budget cuts? Too tall? They just had the little movie projectors on wheels that were scared of Chewie.

June 11Jun 11 That and don't fall into the classic Star Wars nerd trap of "why didn't ______ appear in the original movies" to something that came along later in a prequel. The first movie was a story that dropped you into the action and you were just made to accept why things were happening with very little information. The lore didn't get built out until later. I love that arrest episode because everyone was all hyped thinking it was K2SO. Nope, just an enforcement droid. Plus, Space Miami. In hindsight, Gilroy was 100% right about waiting to unveil K2. It's like having a Force user present. Everything shifts to being about him because he takes up so much space.

They're gone, lost in the vastness of the Galaxy.
June 12Jun 12 Alright. We've all had time to digest the series now...some of us more than a few times. What are your nitpicks of the Andor. I know most are going to say the space "rock, paper scissors" guys, but there was a purpose to that. The only one I can really think of is the aliens that catch Andor and Melshi in their nets but then just let them go...and then even give them a ride to another planet. But that is really about it. Everything else was greatness.

June 12Jun 12 Yeah, marooned on Yavin was my only nitpick but that was more because it slowed down where I wanted him to be which was to kill the Imperials and protect Brasso, Wilmon, and Bix.

I’ll say this show has the luxury of being great on practically every level that the small faults or nitpicks don’t hinder the experience. I guess we could say a fault of the series is what we didn’t get to see from the talented people working on this show because of the need to squeeze it from 5 seasons to only 2 seasons. For as long as I live, I’ll will be wishing we got to see the original horror/Alien like idea of how K-2 and Cassian met. It’s unfortunate the episode had to be scratched for budget reasons but at least we go this epic scene. Spoiler
