May 27, 20223 yr Popular Post Quote  The Texas Longhorns added a much-needed impact player on the defensive side of the ball today in James Madison graduate transfer and FCS All-American Diamonte Tucker-Dorsey. The Longhorns beat out Ole Miss, Florida State, Central Florida and Texas A&M for Tucker-Dorsey's pledge. The 5-foot-10, 215-pounder finished the 2021 season with 116 tackles, 9 TFLs, 2.5 sacks and four interceptions, earning All-American honors along the way. He emerged as a starter for the Dukes during the spring 2020 season, posting 51 tackles and 2.5 TFLs. Tucker-Dorsey will add a veteran presence to an inside linebacker room currently led by Demarvion Overshown that also features rising playmakers Jaylan Ford and David Gbenda. Inside backer was a major need for the Horns this offseason and Tucker-Dorsey's pledge could mark the final transfer addition for Texas this offseason. When Tucker-Dorsey spoke with 247Sports' Chris Hummer earlier this month he mentioned three factors that would impact his decision-making process and Texas hit the mark on all three. “I’ve got to go somewhere where it’s going to be a plug-and-play opportunity,” Tucker-Dorsey said. “Good fan base, good school academically obviously. It’s my last year so I want to go somewhere and win and be a part of a championship atmosphere.” James Madison is making the move to the Sun Belt this season and due to the reclassification process that’s triggered when teams jump to the FBS, the Dukes will not be eligible to compete for a Sun Belt title nor will they be able to play in a bowl game. “I wanted to be on a bigger stage,” Tucker-Dorsey also told Hummer earlier this month. “We’re moving to FBS, and we can’t really win anything anyway. That was a big part of it. If I’m going to go FBS, I’m going to go all the way. I took a chance on myself, and I felt like other schools would recognize that as well. And that’s what’s happening for me. I think I made the right decision.” The new Longhorn originally signed with James Madison out of Lake Taylor High School in Virginia as part of the 2017 class, he ranked as the No. 4,168 overall player in the 247Sports Composite. Tucker-Dorsey is listed in the transfer portal as a graduate transfer, per a source. He did fail to enter the portal ahead of the NCAA’s May 1 deadline for immediate eligibility, so he will need a waiver to play right away at his next school. He’ll be able to apply under the NCAA’s old graduate transfer waiver policy that was in place before the on-time transfer rule came into effect in 2020.   Edited May 27, 20223 yr by Hiphopopotamos

May 27, 20223 yr Like bill Murray said in Scrooged, for the love of god and your body, can you please stop the god damn hammering. Just once, lets celebrate a new addition in a position of need without finding something wrong with him. FFS. Welcome to the 40 Mr. Tucker-Dorsey!Â

Welcome to the 40 Mr. Tucker-Dorsey! His eyes don’t smile and his forearm striation leaves a lot to be desired. Poor eval.Â

May 27, 20223 yr Outstanding player. Perfect fit. How could there have been in excess of 4,000 players better than him coming out of high school? That's some serious ascension through the ranks.Â
