May 15, 20232 yr I am not sure it's a given that no one can compete with City. They are the Yankee's of the last 20th Century that spends everyone into oblivion. But they are ripe to be beaten with teams that are able to utilized EPL Moneyball to assemble teams. I think Arsenal has done it best of anyone, putting together the exact team they have wanted, across many seasons with the goal of a complete team that plays the style they want 1-11. Though clearly not the depth, yet. Throw more UCL money at them, lets see what they do.

May 15, 20232 yr For the relegation fight remaining... Nottingham Forest: Arsenal and Palace. Everton: Wolves and Bournemouth. Leeds: West Ham and Spurs. Leicester: Newcastle and West Ham. as much as i hate to root for rupert and nate, hammers kind of hold everton's fortunes in their hands.
May 15, 20232 yr Man so are we going for the trifecta of Everton Leicester and Southampton to go down?

May 15, 20232 yr I will add, their cumulate total of seasons in the PL (31 seasons) are: Everton - 31 season cumulative Leicester - 17 seasons cumulative Southampton - 24 seasons cumulative

City is damn near UCONN women, UCLA, Boston Celtics type of "just pencil them in" dominance.

May 16, 20232 yr liverpool getting 97 points or whatever and not winning is just tragic. hendo is one of their key players, meanwhile City has 20 guys better than him lol. Edited May 16, 20232 yr by shadow_operative

You have to be damn near perfect. Arsenal would have needed 95 points (or 94 with a cyborg scoring 55 goals) to win this year. In other words: 1. The fifth best point total in PL history. 2. More than every ManUre title winner. 3. More than every Arsenal title winner. 4. More than every Chelsea title winner except 2004-5, who also finished on 95. Edited May 17, 20232 yr by Dutch
May 17, 20232 yr So stupid to have so many shirt sponsors for betting books and then half the video boards are betting sites and then get all crazy or surprised when a guy gets in trouble for something related to betting. A generation ago there was a sportsbook in like very third building of a shopping street in every neighborhood in London, its nothing new over there.

May 20, 20232 yr God damn, Tottenham seriously sucks right now. They’re probably going to help Leeds avoid relegation next week.

Tottenham haven't been able to handle a high press since Bentacur got injured. Thomas Frank apparently finally got around to watching the Villa game at halftime.
May 20, 20232 yr Mbuemo and Wissa played like they had a lot at stake, like a loss would be financially devastating for them and for Brentford. Tottenham probably took the first half options and reached their goal of being the first team to score and having the lead at the half.

They pressed high up the field and played wider. They dared Tottenham's midfield to progress the ball. That was basically the Aston Villa game.
