That was a foul. But how do you bottle that 3 on 1?

Trying to be the hero instead of passing it was how he did that.

Darwin has some real physical skills and ability but thus far he hasn’t shown much tactical awareness imo

2 chances to end it and end up with no pass and the wrong pass.

Then that shit dink. He’s an incredible athlete but he’s got some work left to be the level we need as our first choice

You guys don't seem to get the Klopp/Pep sandbagging stuff with the media. Both guys do it. That said, in no world should Liverpool starting Milner in the back get a win against The T-1000.

City may well collect another PL trophy in May, but it won’t be a golden one. Thank you, Liverpool.

They are coaches, they all do it. Just expect us to say something when they sound ridiculous doing so.

wonder if there will be same criticism of Klopp from Liverpool fans for not starting TAA that Southgate got.

that being said, Liverpool got the clean sheet and win with Milner at RB - so hard to say the strategy didnt work.

TAA was coming off an injury to his ankle that he picked up against Arsenal and was thought to be out at least 2 weeks. That's why he didn't start.

welp, everton sucks again despite getting dc-l back.

Were they extra sad about QE2 at Coventry?  Why have they played 3-4 matches less than pretty much everybody else?

Yeah but where is Wrexham

[checks notes]....

Second in the National League, a point of Notts County with a superior goal difference.

Jesus.  It's almost like the squad has quit on Gerrard.  WTF is happening?

I think the squad has quit on Gerrard.

Gerrard looks like he's watching his family being eaten by lions.

Welp.

Aston Villa Football Club can confirm that Head Coach Steven Gerrard has left the club with immediate effect.

A club spokesman said: “We would like to thank Steven for his hard work and commitment and wish him well for the future.”

Villa should consider Gregg Berhalter for this position.

What the hell did I ever do to you?

20% of PL managers sacked before Matchweek 12. is that a record?

Gerrard never struck me as a player who would make a good manager after he hung up his boots. Incredibly talented, obviously, but his game was all action and impulse, and he could be incredibly frustrating at times.

He had some success at Rangers but the SPL is probably about his level. Villa was always going to be a big task, with a very talented squad and European ambitions. It'll be interesting to see what his next move is and if/when he manages again.

I wish i understood NBC's TV/ Peacock selection strategy. The two top PL teams are on Peacock this week.

Top teams on Peacock, Top matchups on NBC/USA? I honestly don't know either.

They want to keep us guessing so we have to pay for Peacock and a standard TV subscription?

Maybe they are thinking competitive games?

Sat 11 AM slot - I mean Everton-Palace or City-Brighton, I pick City, because watching Haaland score a double hat trick is going to be sweet. But that's also going to be over by the mid point of the first half. Everton-Palace will be the tighter game.

Sun 9 AM slot - Leeds United States of America, because duh. Of the remaining 3, hard call. Wolves-Leicester and Villa-Brentford potentially are competitive, but might also be clunker boring games. Arsenal likely blows the doors off So'ton.

If you watch the PL there is no way not to subscribe to Peacock at this point

Definitely. But it’s annoying that we can’t see the network game on their streaming platform and have to toggle between the two. I’m amazed that they haven’t fixed how shitty peacock is at this stage.

EPL refs are so fucking bad. City should have had a pk and their goal should have been called back for a foul. I guess it evens out, but it's awful to watch.

That looked 50/50 and shoulder to shoulder. I don’t see a clear foul there.

FINALLY made palace pay for this insane press they’ve been playing. Took long enough. Zaha is a lunatic. That should be a red.

Liverpool kind of fucked those of us in the relegation battle this morning.

what a weird team this year. They kind of remind me of the aggies this year. Every time you think they are left for dead, they beat Bournemouth by 9 and clean sheet City. Every time you think they’ve turned the corner and are back on track, they shit the bed. Bizarre roller coaster, especially with their best player hurt.
