Kind of starting to think with all these "top" teams recent struggles starting to really see impact of those teams having more of their squads involved in the World Cup.

Most of the teams look very tired and sloppy.

Which benefits lower tier squads. They can sit back and defend

Oh then that must explain why Liverpool is so bad this year....

What's that? Oh we just suck now. Okay.

The other response is: oh so Liverpool should just sit back and defend then.

All these players in the World Cup on top of a ridiculously compressed schedule, teams are going to drag.

A list of "key" players missing the World Cup was here:

https://allaboutfpl.com/2022/06/list-of-premier-league-players-wholl-not-be-going-to-the-2022-world-cup/

Quote

Which PL Teams benefit the most from players not going to the 2022 World cup?

  • Liverpool – Liverpool will be the team that benefits the most with a host of key players missing out on going to the World Cup including Salah, Diaz, Keita, Robertson, Matip, and backup options Kelleher and Tsimikas. Generally, Liverpool are the most impacted team when the Africa cup of nations are held so it’s a reverse of fortunes for them.
  • Man City – Man City will have two of their most important players Haaland and Mahrez getting a break during the WC.
  • West Ham – The hammers will have Antonio, Benrahma, Coufal, Soucek benefitting from a break.
  • Arsenal – Arsenal will see Odegaard, Zinchenko, Elneny, and Tierney getting a break when the World cup is played.
  • Spurs -Spurs also have Kulusevski and Doherty surely not going to the World cup.
  • Leicester City – Leicester have a host of attackers including Iheanacho, Daka, Lookman, and midfielder Ndidi all missing out on a WC opportunity.
  • Newcastle United: Star striker Isak will miss out on playing in the 2022 WC.

Like @Schulz2.0 said, these guys all look tired. Injuries on top of all of this are grinding down teams. The successful teams are going to be the ones that navigate this and frankly just get lucky (not having a lot of injuries).

It’s the worst refereed professional league on the planet. I truly don’t understand how the English even get a ref into fifa events

Welp. After a decent start, Citeh execute perfectly on the corner in the 4th. Fuuuuuu.

This is going to be a long match for Villa.

Emi with the huge save to keep it only 1-nil.

Fucking beast of a Haaland impact and Emi still down.

Grealish doing Grealish things.

Penalty Citeh.

3-nil just before the half.

I wish the league didn’t reward that kind of foul fishing.

When we lose the league by 2 points you'll get Derka'd and like it.

Isn't that the expected outcome regardless if the results of the season?

Get fucked, cheaters.

Relegate them to the National League.

Apparently the 5th tier has been renamed the "National League"

I will try to find a stream for the fixture today. Wish me luck.

Good decision starting Tomiyasu

What are you talking about? That was a perfect pass. Hit KDB in stride.

I don't watch much Arsenal but I thought Ben White started at RB.  Am I wrong or is hurt?

He put it right where you told him to!

If I were Saka, my celebration would have been pointing to that spot and dancing around

Arteta said it's "squad rotation," and maybe it is (White has logged a lot of minutes, as have all our 1st XI). White has seen a slight dip in form in recent matches, but TBF all our players have.  Tomiyasu has been rock solid this year until today's miscue. Not the best time to have one.

god damnit, arsenal definitely was not the potato today.

City is winning the league by 8+

And then getting it thrown out by the EPL and the courts in 2147.

Pep will have hair before they win one.

Wasted chances come back to haunt Villa. What a shot from Jorginho

Look, you don't get to automatically beat the last place team in the Premier League at home just because you've got a billion dollar roster.  Winning is hard, okay?

That goal from Coleman was bizarre. The Leeds goalie is a moron.

What a weird weekend…all three teams that were in relegation going into today pulled three points (unless Chelsea gets something late here).

It gives me no joy to root against Ramjet, but that AVLARS match this morning was epic.

I say this as an Everton fan…being a chelsea fan right now must suck. 700 million in spend and current form may be the worst in the entire league. Good lord.

Potter is getting quite the free pass from the English press.  He’s lucky he’s English
