March 25, 20187 yr 2018 season started for me yesterday. New starter worked like it was supposed to. Lake Travis was manageable even in my little 21' Cobalt. Gonna be a good season.
March 25, 20187 yr Sold my skiff and picked this up last week. I am enjoying my weekends, even though the Specks are still in the gulf.
March 26, 20187 yr Here's my old tug. Hoping to use it more this year than we have the last couple of years. Edited March 26, 20187 yr by dcbc

March 26, 20187 yr Yes. Not as much as I'd like these days. Not very good in the course, but I still try to get out there when I can. And, of course, when it's too windy to ski, there's this old Sunfish knockoff.

March 26, 20187 yr I am just not super stoked about A kites. Maybe I am just stuck in the past and need to evolve, but I like digging hard and feel like they took an entire aspect out of the game. reach reach reach. Get off my lawn.
March 26, 20187 yr Hahahaha yeah that is the reaction I get a lot. Gimmie my 1979 J shitbox that destroys your body every time you go out, no matter how casual. I would love to go for a ride on the rocket you got. Just not at night during the Mack. Edited March 26, 20187 yr by HOOKEM4

I would love to go for a ride on the rocket you got. Just not at night during the Mack. Well, we are pretty sure we won't drop you over the side, and if we do, we are really prepared to get you back. A few of us gave a presentation at the Annapolis Safety at Sea seminar this past weekend. Had a pretty captivated audience.
March 26, 20187 yr I imagine so. Still one of the craziest things I have read about that ended with a positive outcome.
March 26, 20187 yr Fuck. MOB in the Volvo on Scallawag. 1500 or so miles of Cape Horn in a gale. This is not good. https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/other-sports/102614601/search-underway-for-man-overboard-in-gale-force-conditions-in-volvo-ocean-race
March 26, 20187 yr He's done. I'm going though some PTSD shit as we speak just reading this. I still wake up in the middle of the night sometime, guarantee it will happen tonight.
March 26, 20187 yr Timely thread reminded me to set up service appointment for next month to get the X1 ready to go back on the water. I think I’m also going to do some additional stereo upgrades this year. Now I just need to find a bay boat and I’ll be ready to go.

March 26, 20187 yr This fucking sucks. As soon as I read it I knew the outcome. Terrible terrible news

My problem is I like to run all the the lakes around Central Texas so dealing with a 24' boat over a 21' boat keeps me from upsizing. 21' is just so much easier to deal with.
March 27, 20187 yr Planning on up-sizing from 16ft flats sled to family friendly bay boat in 22-24ft range. Got the pictures and text all ready for the sale of my flats boat. Was going to post them up after the weekend... Tuesday approaching lunchtime and I can't bring myself to post it yet...
March 28, 20187 yr Overhauled my water pump this weekend, and put the first coat of teak oil on the swim deck today. De-winterizing next week.

March 28, 20187 yr 8 minutes ago, dcbc said: Very nice! Here's mine. What vintage is that piece of art? Secondly, is the PCM logo on the exhaust header jacket painted on or a decal? Mine is a decal and one side delaminated this winter.
March 28, 20187 yr 1998. As for the PCM logo, it's a decal. Mine have peeled a bit in a few places. You could probably get some yellow engine paint and touch it up. I think the decals are over cast/raised lettering. Then again, it's not like anyone but you is likely to see it. But I wouldn't judge. And, of course, there's plenty of unavoidable surface rust on the underside of the exhaust manifold.

March 29, 20187 yr Tapa is installed so catching up with pictures. 06 X-1 that’s probably my favorite wakeboard boat I’ve had at this point. Edited March 29, 20187 yr by Brew
March 29, 20187 yr I’ve always liked the idea of owning a boat but I fear the upkeep and cost would end up being too much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
