If I could get two slips I would have one of those and the wake boat. I had a Searay 245 Weekend years ago, it was well made. A little underpowered with the 5.0L but it had a Bravo 3 drive and would still hit 38 mph. I took it out of Freeport a few times to the rigs to fish.
March 1Mar 1 Rolled up to this at the boat dock this morning. Looks like no boat this weekend. Guy is coming Monday to check it out.
April 7Apr 7 Fuck, I totally forgot that CA now requires a Boater Card for any operator of a boat with a motor greater than 15 hp, or a sailboat greater than 30 ft with a motor. It's been a requirement since 2018, but they phased it in by age. As on 1/1/25, everybody has to have one. $100 fine for the first offense, $250 for the second, and $500 for the 3rd. My guess is they may be lax this first year. But it's CA, so maybe not. Doing an online course, and have it running in the background as you need to spend a certain amount of time on each section. Fucking California.
April 8Apr 8 I'm selling my 40' Cruisers Yacht 3870 if anyone is interested. Asking $75k. It's in the water now at Sail-n-Ski Lakeway, ready to be used. It's a beautiful boat and in great working order. Slip can be transferred.

O/U will be set at 12.5.

It's a beautiful boat and in great working order. Slip can be transferred. I’d be interested at around $37500 if you’ll let me make payments. I can put $300 down and the slip lease prepaid for the term of the loan.

April 10Apr 10 Pretty boat, and from looking online that’s a pretty great offer on your part. I had a sea ray 245WE back in my late 20s, sleeping on a boat in a cuddy is the best sleep I have ever got.
April 10Apr 10 I think they just sort of miraculously appear if you have the right boat. It’s a sixth sense they have.

April 13Apr 13 That thing is sweet. pulled the trigger on a new dinghy. My old Apex RIB was just falling apart and wouldn’t hold air well at all. Plus since I am solo a lot the weight of hoisting the RIB up onto the davits was a bit grueling. The high pressure air floor is a lot lighter.

April 13Apr 13 Came down to do some prep for Catalina next weekend. Been way too long. Going out Friday with the wife and daughter coming out on the ferry on Saturday. Figured I'd spend the night tonight. Settling in with a little cocktail with Dodgers/Cubs coming on in just a few minutes.

Avalon is a clusterfuck in the summer, plus the water sports and fishing, of which we are big fans, is much better at the west end.
April 21Apr 21 Just put the wife and daughter on the ferry. Flying solo tonight and the crossing back tomorrow. NDMK Fish House poke bowl and edamame. Mmmm.

It’s so quiet and peaceful. Clear and calm. I don’t really even need to listen to music or watch anything. Just take it in. Oh and post on surly. Crossing looks pretty mellow tomorrow.
April 21Apr 21 I’m making some changes to my docking situation this year and have found myself with too many boats so it’s time to sell my 2015 MB Tomcat F22. It’s about the best value for a boat with a real tabbed surf system and it throws up a decent wave. Killer Exile kind system and very clean, but needs a new carpet and cover. 275 hours total with 120 hours on a replacement Raptor 400 motor done by Ski Dock. It’s on Lake Travis at West Beach and I’m looking for $48k ish. Hit me up if you want to live your best life on the lake this summer.
April 21Apr 21 damn my boys, wife and I need to party with bruin. I'm not even kidding one fucking bit.

Daughter had to catch a flight back to school early this morning which would’ve meant leaving yesterday before noon. We wanted to spend the whole day there, with them catching the 6p ferry. And I have no problem with that. Solo time at the island is just fine with me. Just got back,
April 29Apr 29 It’s time for a new wake surf board. I want a skim style - looking at the Ronix HOME carbon pro or Phase 5 MVP or Matrix Pro. Anyone have any opinions or some others to look at ?

May 13May 13 I listed my boat for sale on BoatTrader if anyone is interested. It's on Lake Travis and in the water ready to go. Would love to sell it to someone local so we don't have to fool with shipping. Shaggy discount applies. No HDMI ports. https://www.boattrader.com/boat/2002-cruisers-yachts-3870-express-9580339/

He sold the boat to me a few years ago and we've replaced all of the fuel senders, batteries, fluids, etc and it's running great. The dock fees are eating me up and I want to get a smaller boat.
