This was the basis of a MAD TV sketch that I happened to see while in college. I don't remember any details, but the mere concept still makes me laugh.

The Joint Chiefs

I used to worked with their bass player circa '89.  I'm pretty sure they played at one of our house(not that kinda house) parties.  Who were the other Austin funk bands of that era besides Bad Mutha Goose?

I'm trying to get the guys I jam with to go with The Agony of Defeat but they aren't having it.

The Bizness (who coincidently did a one night only show tonight as GSharp & The Bizness at Lee's in Minneapolis), Extreme Heat, Joe Rockhead, Bouffant Jellyfish, Retarded Elf, and Stick People isn't a shitty list.  Skank and Do Dat in the 80's.

Soulhat's drummer was Frosty Smith from Funkadelic

Arcee and the Milkmen

(A German military anthem cover band)

Buddy of mine and I thought up this one over cocktails last night. Great college band for Notre Dame, Boston College, and their ilk

Opus Dei and the Knights of Columbus

Frat parties can rock to the sweet sounds of "Shout (for Jesus)" and "Shama Lama Praise God" (oh-oh-oh-oh)

I remember hearing this name on the KNBT live music schedule several years ago.  Probably disbanded and available now, but one of my all-time favorite names:

A Creep at the Steel

Tommy (or Tammy if it’s a girl band) and the Titty Tweakers

DiscoTech-9

Putin and the Petro Pushers
