Very excited about this one.  A lot of expectations coming with him,  fairly or unfairly partly because of the price tag.

We have been so good with transfers for a while now. We almost never know who we are after until the deal is basically done and we don’t really seem to miss on anyone we really want anymore. Then they get here and they seem to fit right in. The club is in such incredible shape right now from everyone involved.

Sadio is off to Munich. Best of luck and thanks for the championships.

So 41 million plus whatever we get for Mini covers a large chunk of Darwin.

Good business.

Read this morning a couple clubs are interested in Neco in the £12-15M range.

They're trying to sell Minamino as well.

Going to miss him. Bayern seems like a weird destination but wish him the best of luck.

Does anyone remember who first published the Bayern rumor/connection?

There are only 2-3 clubs in the world outside of Manchester that could pay what he wanted. I’m happy it is Bayern.

The Anfield Wrap  pointed out that he can kick his feet up in the Bundesliga before champions league matches and then go all out in those game. It’s been 45 weeks of high stress every season the last 4 years trying to keep up with Enronchester City.

Sadio's deal is done and now our long summer wait begins.

I think it's good business all the way around. Neuer is going to have flashbacks during practice.

We're obviously not done with outgoings but I think we may not necessarily be done with incomings as well. We'll see.

I'd love a backup MF but we're supposedly getting ready to give Keita an extension so I bet we're done in the transfer market.

I think we're more than likely done as well but midfield wasn't actually what I was thinking.

I knew this day would happen but I didn't think I was ready for it so soon. Best of luck to Sadio.

With Minamino off to Monaco we look an attacker light. I can't imagine the plan is to play 17-year old Kaide Gordon in those minutes.

A switch to a 4-2-3-1 seems almost inevitable. With Nunez, Jota, and Firmino, have three guys who can play the #9 in that formation, and Harvey and Carvalho are much more natural fits for the three attacking midfielder roles rather than as wide forwards. Jota and Nunez can also play in those wide attacking positions, providing depth for Mo and Diaz. Then we have Fabinho, Hendo, Keita, Thiago, and Milner (welp) for the double-pivot, and potentially Ox if he stays.

The biggest question mark imo for that formation is who plays the #10. Harvey is the most natural fit but it would be putting an awful a lot of responsibility on him. Thiago would be interesting there, and it would mean less wear and tear on an older, injury-prone player but you'd be moving the best deep-lying playmaker in the world out of position and playing him in a role he's never really played before.

Gonna be really interesting to see what Klopp does with our formation.

Interesting discussion about Nike just going to do a new kit every ~2 years.  I don't really have a big issue with it, but would guess it drives sales lower.

Liverpool could keep the same shirts for two seasons under plans reportedly being considered by kit supplier Nike.

According to reports in France, Nike are mulling plans to create new bespoke team kits for the clubs it supplies every two years in a bid to lessen the environmental impact, with the textile industry responsible for two per cent of the world's greenhouse gas emissions, according to French newspaper L'Equipe.

Nike inked a deal worth £30m per year guaranteed with Liverpool back in 2020, with the structure of the deal potentially earning the Reds far more through the club receiving 20 per cent of the revenues made from Liverpool/Nike branded merchandise globally. Some analysts predict that the value of the deal when all things are taken into account could reach the £70m mark given the global reach of Liverpool's brand.

pretty good haul considering he has had a handful of PL starts and hasn't played a whole lot of PL minutes.

1,428 PL minutes (he played more PL minutes with Southampton than he did with Liverpool)

14 PL starts (9 of which were with Southampton)

Yeah, was weird hearing that he was the top scorer in both the League Cup and FA Cup.  Nice player, nice sum for him.

Coffee Cup Legend.

Mo's contract is done!

From the Echo.  Seems like we got a good deal, and haven't killed the wage structure which is kind of amazing if true.

Mohamed Salah has signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool Football Club following months of uncertainty around his future.

The Egyptian’s contract had been set to expire in the summer of 2023, however, he has now agreed a deal, believed to be for three seasons, to commit his future to the club.

It has been suggested the forward will earn roughly £350k a week, a significant rise on his current deal, reported to be worth £200k a week, to become the highest-paid player in the club’s history.

The ECHO understands that the 30-year-old will indeed earn less than £400k a week, with his new deal heavily incentivised so he could earn more based on player performance.

Salah has scored 156 goals in 254 appearances since joining Liverpool from AS Roma in the summer of 2017.

The front office so far is smoking, not missing a beat at all since Edwards has left.
