Not sure I understand why we have our RW (Salah and now Jota) hugging the touchline the entire match.

Especially with both Harvey and Trent playing.

Klopp needs to move the squad to a 4-2-3-1. I'm not a huge proponent of the formation but our personnel fits it.

Here's how I see it:

Nunez

Jota

    Diaz                      Carvalho                      Salah

 Carvalho                    Firmino                      Elliott

     Fabinho                      Thiago

     Arthur                         Naby

Robertson                         VvD                           Konate                         Trent

     Timmy                            Matip                         Gomez                         Gomez

        Alisson

         Kellher

This would lessen the burden on the midfield and would put everyone in much more natural positions. We have 4 players that can functionally play in a MF2 (Fabinho, Thiago, Naby and Arthur). It would also slot Harvey behind Mo which is where he belongs at this point. What we need to figure out is where the intensity has gone. We haven't out run a team since City in the community shield and I have no clue why. Our tactics have been disgustingly bad. Mo and Diaz are getting shunted too wide which is causing problems with Robbo and Trent b/c those are areas they occupy. This is forcing less effective midfielders into the channels and everything is well crap.

The root cause of all of this is our poor roster planning and management, particularly in the midfield. Milner should've been binned and replaced 3 years ago. Henderson should've been allowed to walk and replaced with the non-existent Gini replacement. Ox should've been sold this summer and replaced. The Naby situation is absolutely bonkers. He was announced in the Guinea squad for the international break which suggests he's fit. We'll see if he plays. He apparently requested a transfer in June. I don't know what was happening behind the scenes but it's obviously a clusterfuck.

We need 3 new midfielders between now and next summer and I have no idea how FSG is going to pull that off or if they even realize it. They've largely been a sell to buy ownership group which is why we're NET Spend Monsters. Problem now is we don't have anything to sell. Milner, Naby, Ox and Bobby are all out of contract next summer so they're out. Henderson has no value. I'd try out Jones in the 10 and see if he can replace Firmino there but if not he could fetch something. Other than that FSG is going to have to actually spend money to fix the problem of their own doing.

The nightmare scenario: FSG can't or won't spend to fix the problems without selling. What then? Prepare your anus to sell Salah. I can't believe I'm even typing that but we've got some serious personnel problems that aren't going to be fixed without a handful of new players. I'd love if FSG actually nutted up and spent without having to sell but frankly they're going to have to show me before I believe it. If that ends up being the case then we either meander with a broken squad or sell one of the big assets we have.

That's it for now boys and girls. Until next time YNWA

Great post.

Andy will be out for Ajax and Chelsea. Everything's just going great.

I look forward to the Winter Transfer of No One.

Well luckily it seems Chelsea might get postponed due to security concerns.

No Milner in the midfield. Maybe we have a chance?

MO SALAH! MO SALAH! MO SALAH!

RUNNING DOWN THE WING!

SALAH LA LA LA LA!

THE EGYPTIAN KING!

Not sure who the announcer is, but that was the least excited I've ever heard on a goal announced.

Did someone from Liverpool hurt him?

Where are today's matches streaming? It appears Bayern-FCB is on Univision and I've got the Golazo! Show on now. Wondering if there's somewhere to just watch the Liverpool match.

That's what I thought. Pretty much the only streaming service I don't have.

Wow. That's a tough one to defend.

Salah and Trent just let their defender play the ball right where he wanted.

great finish to be fair.

That was a ridiculous strike by Ajax

The shot, sure. The build up? Not so much

That looked more like 21-22 vintage Liverpool. Thiago is our most irreplaceable player.

That would've destroyed us if it went in. Trent again.

We’ve played like 3 through balls towards our own goals. This is so sloppy.

Trent was covering the other open player. He can’t cover both guys.

That'll do, pig. That'll do.

And now we can rest up the remainder of the month.

I hope that FSG realizes how Thiago controlling the midfield makes a huge difference. If we don't sign a world class midfielder in December, we are relying on a guy who can't play 90 minutes 3 times a week. The alternative is Milner & Inshallah.
