October 16, 20223 yr Damn solid win. Leeds gave us all we wanted. Great keeping, outside of the handball solid defending, and a world class moment of brilliance from Saka. Top 4 clubs scrap out wins in matches like this. Well done, boys. WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE Edited October 16, 20223 yr by Dutch
October 16, 20223 yr Author what a win! this team has so much heart. i love watching this team play. big three points on the road against a team that gave us lots of trouble today. still on top of the table! COYG!! 🔴⚪️

As long as we can comfortably handle teams we should comfortably handle and can give players rest when needed, we have a solid chance.

It's all going to come down to injuries and whether we can rotate (of note, Jesus played 28 PL matches last year) the squad enough. Saka was on vapor last May, and he has played every match so far, with a World Cup looming, and that's not sustainable. He's going to burn out again unless we get him some rest, but we have no natural cover for him at RW. Sambi is improving but right now is a massive downgrade from Partey (who is going to get hurt again). We have decent cover at CB and FB: White is playing out of position at RB and can cover Saliba or Gabriel, Tomi can play either FB, and ZInchenko and Tierney at LB.
October 20, 20223 yr Strong selection; wont be easy, but three points today and we pretty much secure 1st. Get it done, lads. Edited October 20, 20223 yr by Dutch
October 20, 20223 yr Breakthrough! We've got..... [clap, clap] GRANIT XHAKA!!! Please be ok, Saka... Please 9 pound 8oz baby Jesus let Saka be ok
October 20, 20223 yr Author good performance. going on 270+ minutes without conceding in europa league. that'll do. oh, and ray hudson is right, the referee was great as well.
October 20, 20223 yr A great result, and hopefully Saka isn't injured. Getting all three today means a win v Zurich in the final group match (Zurich is currently winless with -11 GD) renders the result in Eindhoven moot, and we top the group (and vitally avoid a two-legged playoff into the knockout round). On to Southampton. COYG!
October 21, 20223 yr Now we need to get the Saliba and Saka deals done. Oh, and go ahead and extend Martinelli while we’re at it (you can’t have him, Klopp). https://www.arsenal.com/news/gabriel-magalhaes-signs-new-long-term-contract Edited October 21, 20223 yr by Dutch
October 23, 20223 yr Leeds and now Southampton, lower table sides, high-pressed the hell out of us and caused all sorts of problems. Arteta needs to get back to the lab and cook up some answers.
October 23, 20223 yr Some of this and some of that but also looked like a match where besides the previously aforementioned high press issues we look like the pace of matches may be taking a bit of a toll. Edited October 23, 20223 yr by Surly Bevo
October 23, 20223 yr Author i am pissed with how poor we were in the 2H, and how we failed to put the game away, but god damn it the officiating today was criminal. having to watch that Texas game last night and then wake up to watch that horse shit this morning was fucking terrible. i would rant some more about the absolute idiocy of the officiating today, but i already did so in the wrong thread, so. yeah. pretty terrible sports weekend so far. does not portend well for Austin FC tonight. October 27, 20223 yr Lets. Fucking. Go. A point tonight and we’re top and the last match is moot. Get it done. Edited October 27, 20223 yr by Dutch
October 27, 20223 yr Author apparently turner has a slight groin issue that isn't thought to be serious. i hope eddie bags a brace today. COYG!! 🔴⚪️
October 27, 20223 yr Author The idea that our black shorts would have clashed with PSV's jerseys is ridiculous.
October 27, 20223 yr Author we should probably be down 1-0 right now, that was a terrible foul call on Xavi. annnnnnd just like *that* we should be up 1-0 but martinelli rushed it a bit. shit is getting tense in these late 1H minutes.
October 27, 20223 yr Author holy shit that kid is good. he's been lively during both matches, and he really earned that goal, especially after he got screwed a little while ago. damn. just have to tip my cap at that one. once he gets into the box you don't want to foul him, and he made us pay. let's see how we respond. edit: hoooooooly shit. wow. goal is taken back die to offside in the build up. wow. October 27, 20223 yr Zurich may be last in the group, but now we have to win next Thursday, three days before Chelsea, to avoid a two-legged tie vs the CL dropdowns. It's @ home, but still will be interesting to see what sort of side Arteta runs out.
October 27, 20223 yr Apparently Gabriel limped off, "grimacing in pain." So that's probably not good.
October 28, 20223 yr Author yeah, i saw a video of him limping towards the team bus. also pablo mari got stabbed. weird that we haven't talked about that.
October 28, 20223 yr Holy shit; hadn’t heard that. Reports are he’s not seriously injured “I know Edu has been in touch with his relatives,” the manager said of the club’s technical director. “He’s in hospital but seems to be OK. We’re having a briefing now, we’ll be in touch and hopefully he will be OK.” An Arsenal statement subsequently read: “We have been in contact with Pablo’s agent who has told us he’s in hospital and is not seriously hurt. Our thoughts are with Pablo and the other victims of this dreadful incident.” About two hours after the incident Monza’s president, Adriano Galliani, confirmed Marí would make a full recovery. “Pablo Marí is not in danger as his injuries are not life-threatening. We hope to see him back soon,” he said. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/oct/27/arsenal-pablo-mari-in-hospital-italy-supermarket-stabbed-monza
October 30, 20223 yr Author anyone else having trouble finding the game on peacock? edit- never mind it's on usa. online it said it was on peacock. Edited October 30, 20223 yr by shadow_operative
