So does this mean we all take tomorrow off and start drinking early? I could use a 4 day weekend just like a good European.

If this can't be played tonight it will be Mayhue or Spivey tomorrow.

Spivey hasn't fooled any of the Texas hitters so far. Mayhue might be able to give them 2 or 3 innings max based on pitch count. If Texas can chase those guys quick ECU's confidence will be shot.

Welp, furk. That looks like an overnight suspension ...

So of course the outfield is elevated such that it drains into the infield.

Big mistake not to start early for TV and per the resumption rules, if this doesn’t get going again until tomorrow, we still have to start Tristan or he’s done. Bc he’s burned now that he was listed as a starter without throwing a single pitch.  Has to start tomorrow or not play at all

If only we had Mark Marquess coaching us and submitting a lineup with a reserve infielder listed as SP.

To be fair, most Little League ballparks are like that.

Maybe they should have found a city for the Super Regional where it just about never rains?

Anyone know why Pierce didn't challenge the call at 1st on the bunt?  I didn't see the replay but it looked really close.

I ran the play in slomo several times and think we got screwed.

Could he not be reentered?

Yes. Is there a game tomorrow?

ESPN showing score as 0-0. Surely we get to restart exactly where we left off, right? And I’m not calling you Shirley.

The word "playmaker" is....just not a baseball term.

There’s no plays in baseball hence no playmakers. Morons

I saw this picture on the ECU 247 board.

That play was close and probably wouldn't have been overturned.

What a fucking joke this park is.

Didn't Pat Murphy do that too with whomever was injured?

As a parent,  it just kills you when a child gets hurt like that.  I'd rather lose my leg a hundred times over than see one of my kids/grandchildren get hurt like that.

I have a friend who is in ECU at the game and he overheard staff saying the earliest this could start is 6:45PM CT because of the water situation on the field

Dammit, that's right.  I forgot the re-entry rules doesn't apply to pitchers or to the DH.

We’re not gonna get to play tonight are we?

Depends on if it's the same crew we had for our last trip to Stanford

Not looking good unless ECU has some water draining tech on their field we don't know about.

No re-entry period in baseball

That seems unlikely. I am sure its just rednecks with paper towels.

Say what???

The one thing I found interesting earlier was that the clock on the game is still running.  So when they do restart the game could later be called complete with fewer than 9 innings.  Hopefully they can get back out there. They have lights so... what would be the latest time for a potential restart today?

If it was meth on that Ecu field, it would be gone within seconds...

True story. 2007. Southern Afghanistan. Everyone else on the team is either Afghan, Brit or South African.

In the team room we have satellite. Of course it is ESPN India (yeah, it exists). So I get up about 4 AM and tell the team to leave me the fuck alone. I am going to watch a Texas football game. Pregame starts all good. Drinking cold Tiger beer. Damn I am happy. Grill is going and I can smell the slow cooked fajitas I threw on.

Game time. Fuckers change it to a replay of a cricket test match from years prior. I was so pissed everyone in the house knew to stay away from me. Fuck Cricket. Gentlemens sport my ass. Three day even with shitty sandwiches and watered down tea.

Checking in at 4:30 AM in Mumbai so this hits close to home.

Hopefully, he hadn't even started to warm up in earnest with only one out.  But that's the concern.

WHAT YOU PEOPLE DON"T SEEM TO GRASP IS WE'VE HAD A FOUR RUN LEAD FOR LIKE FOUR HOURS!!!!!!!

What kind of meth?/ztejas

If this goes to tomorrow, the forecast is for a chance of showers and t-storms in the afternoon with a heat index up to 105.  Wind to RF at 8mph.
