June 15, 20187 yr 1 inside the cut line thru 16, finishes bogey bogey to miss the cut....that’s some non clutch golf there that was tough to watch. He’ll bounce back
June 16, 20187 yr Jordan's birdie putt on 17, holy fuck how do you make that bad a putt after 4 straight birdies.
June 16, 20187 yr Sadly, I have a feeling that this might not be must see tv on Sunday. Good for DJ but sucks for viewing purposes. The losing of a huge group of stars doesn't hurt earlier. I guess I am hoping an amateur makes a run now.
June 16, 20187 yr Double and triple bogies are out there and not hard to find. The thought of DJ running away with this did cross.my mind, but I'll hold out some hope. Not rooting against him, just want to see some drama.

DJ is certainly locked in but you make one mistake into the fescue or run it off one of these greens, you can quickly add three strokes.
June 16, 20187 yr really liked Poulter's honesty on his mess from the bunker. Something like - a really bad shot from there would wind up 30 feet away. I wound up 30 yards
June 16, 20187 yr and tickets are still available - just wow.. If I lived there I know I would have gone it's the US Open no matter who missed the cut. https://golfweek.com/2018/06/15/the-forecaddie-tickets-available-heading-into-weekend-at-shinnecock/
June 16, 20187 yr Other than The Masters, I don’t think many of them sell out. The Players and Bay Hill had tickets available all four days
June 16, 20187 yr It’s a pain in the ass for most folks who don’t have a house in Southampton to get to this open. There aren’t any big hotels local, and only a few small hotels anyways. Most are taking the LIRR (train) from the city or somewhere on Long Island. The parking is a long way from the course especially with the usual summer traffic. So many people just don’t want to deal with the effort. I have a long CSB story about how we dealt with the whole issue in 1995 but will spare everyone unless someone is interested.

June 16, 20187 yr Unbelievable out of a seasoned vet. That is just a complete emotional breakdown to do that
June 16, 20187 yr That's funny shit. He's 20 back and wasn't going to go get a wedge. Stop the hand wringing, Curtis.
June 16, 20187 yr The guy probably didn't want to hit the next shot, which would have been a 60 yarder off of a tight lie.. just decided to take the 2 shot penalty.
June 16, 20187 yr 4 minutes ago, WhatTheBuck said: Mickelson just cheated. Total blow up. He didn't cheat. He will be assessed 2 strokes for hitting a moving ball.
June 16, 20187 yr You learn something new every day. Today I'm learning there is an active volcano on Long Island called Mt. Mickelson.

June 16, 20187 yr There's really nothing more exciting than watching these guys on the driving range. If Fox ever gets the Masters, the world just needs to end.

It's still cheating even if you don't get away with it. It's like a renege in Euchre. (I'm not sure if you're familiar with that reference.) It wasn't diabolical. I don't think my choice of words to use on short notice merits a debate/distraction.

At least you got me to Google euchre.
June 16, 20187 yr Phil trying to save a little time and Fox proving why they should never ever be allowed to televise golf.
June 16, 20187 yr and now these dumbasses realizing they blew the Phil shit a 1,000,000 times out of proportion.
June 16, 20187 yr Now Rose chunks his 2nd shot of his round. Has the U.S. Open adopted the tournament procedures from my course when I was growing up where there was a keg tapped at the first tee box today? Edited June 16, 20187 yr by EMAWesome

June 16, 20187 yr John Daly hit a moving ball once, on one of those stupid hills like they have here. A less than great shot would roll back down, and he had had enough.
June 16, 20187 yr I just turned it on. Can someone tell me what happened with Michelson?Nevermind the twitter showed me
June 16, 20187 yr FOX announcers: "Mickelson was later heard berating the ball -- asking it why it wouldn't just go to its home and whether or not it was too good for its home."
June 16, 20187 yr Lol at joe buck taking the Phil thing so seriously. Mans the usga guy talking about “mobilizing the rules committee”. It’s not like Phil is in contention. If he were, he wouldn’t have done that.
