Was he once the worst GM in MLB?

I suppose that is debatable but yes, Dave Stewart is the answer.  87-90 with the A's.

Behind errors and pitching wins, the sac fly is the baseball stat I'd most like to get rid of.   First, there's zero evidence that SFs are the result of skill/attempt -- historical fly ball rates

Traded him (and Arroyo) for:

But I was more thinking about Inciarte and Swanson for Shelby Miller.

That was another bad one.

I was joking about his comments after basically giving away Toussaint for cash.  He made clear that he didn't grasp the excess value that teams got out of a guy's team controllable years.

That was the "He's worth $2M because that's the draft bonus we paid him" comment?  That absolutely enraged me.

Didn't read the comments, so don't know if the answer's in there. Who's the non-Hall guy? I guessed Ted Simmons, incorrect.

When Salvador Perez surpasses 300 HR -- which could happen this year -- he will be the 8th catcher* to do so.Six of the previous seven are in the @baseballhall: Piazza, Bench, Fisk, Berra, Carter, Rodríguez.* caught in at least 70% of all career games @MLBNetwork @Royals

I looked it up. Would never have gotten it.

Benito was my only logical closest guess and he wasn't even that close

McCann?  He had that long streak of 20+ homers, but not sure how many he ended up with...

Lance Parrish?

Couple of days late but Javy Lopez would have been my guess for HRs.  260.

I looked up Beau’s question, most will probably remember him from bloopers videos from the ‘80s with the Orioles.

well this made it easy.  to be honest, a bit shocked he never made at least one...

Due to some previous work I'm pretty sure about these 5 Cobb, Gehrig, Hornsby, Mize, Crawford.

I will guess Hornsby for the singles

Since we're probably going to have another this season...

Who was the last pitcher to lose 20 games?

#979

I looked it up and I was right about the team and the year but I couldn't remember the guy's name...or his teammate's name that lost 19.

There's been a 17, 18, or 19 game loser almost every year though.  Maybe there's something to the hack baseball announcer cliche that you have to be pretty good for them to keep sending you out there to lose 20.

#981

so in the live ball era Ted Lyons lost 20 games in 1931 with a 2.05 ERA for the White Sox.

Forty years ago, Hall of Fame catcher Carlton Fisk turned a nifty double play.

I usually suck at the trivia on this thread but proud of myself that I thought Parrish when I saw this clue (and before seeing Beau vines post)

Seems like every time someone gets close to 20, they get dropped into middle relief  to avoid it.  Except for this guy: https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/marotmi01.shtml

I suspect Senzatela will get dropped to the pen, too, especially after his start tonight.  He did manage to not pick up his 15th L, though.

A 0.2 WAR losing 21 games is pretty impressive.

and lol at Steve Sparks going 0-6 on that team in 42 appearances

I deleted the names. One is easy, other two not as much.

Judge, Arenado, Stanton?

My first thought was Geno, but after looking at his stats I think he is a little short
