That. Was fucking. NUTS. Wildly frustrated that we couldn’t put more than one in with a man advantage, but my frustration didn’t appear to help them. My wife had a conflict, so I took one of my olde

So impressed with the defending.   Biro was outstanding on the left and it was a clear plan for Gally and Owen double up Bouanga every time he got the ball on the right.  I was concerned about Kolmanic, but most of the LA later attacks came on the other side.

Should have had at least one more goal, probably two (Sabovic and Uzuni).

I never would have believed that one goal would result in 3 points in this game.

We are in 7th place in the west with 6pts.
We have 2 goals in 4 games. Out of 20 teams with 4 or more points, Austin is the only one that has scored fewer than 4 goals.

And our first goal was a freak bounce.

That said, they’re shooting, with actual potential, a lot more than they were last season. So, that’s a positive.

Very true- last night they had like 10 shots, which isn’t a huge number but has to be close to last season’s high.

it’s still amazing when you think about the history of this franchise. In 2021 Verde scored 35 goals, worst in the league. But it was an expansion team.

2022 - 65! Third most! Dynamic futball with passing and shooting and everything.

2023 - 49, middle of the pack

2024 - 39, third lowest in the league. basically stopped shooting

2025 so far - shooting but not scoring.

So much to talk about. What a great team victory. Still need Buka to get his shit together but I’m hoping yesterday was some combination of the early knock + fasting.

Headed to the game.   Our seats are directly in the sun for an afternoon game, so i might find an empty seat near Brisketexan or wave a flag in the supporters section.
¡LISTOS!

We’ll be over in 118, row 9. Come say hi…but don’t stay and make us look low-class.
At Turnstile now.

Austin is playing with fire in these last 10-15 minutes. The team from a Whale's Vagina (it's German, look it up) are having too many chances.

2nd in the West! Should've scored one or two more but also should've given up another. I'm ready for a fuller roster in St Louis.

Was BV point shaving after he got his 1?  Geez.   Feel like FG for this game was like 6-4.

Still love having a guy like him on this team.

Afternoon games in good weather are fun.

Vazquez should’ve had a hat trick. It’s coming soon. The other players look like they finally realize how to serve him the ball. Except for Bukari. WTF.

#7881

Well, they dominated possession, dictated the game, and were pretty unlucky not to score more.  Maybe I should’ve said we were lucky to get 3 out of the game.  We definitely should have score more, but so should they.

Owen Wolff was fantastic once again.

My wife after the match: “and dammit…I’m coming around on Owen. He’s good.” I told her he’s among the top 3-4 players on the team right now, and she conceded the point. He’s got hustle, doesn’t commit stupid turnovers, has shown real vision, and bulked up so he doesn’t get muscled off the ball as much.
And two of our favorites, Kolmanic and Gallagher, acquitted themselves quite well today.
Defense continues to be stout.
Lots to like from BV, but also some inexplicable misses. Bukari continues to frustrate.
And Danny…has regressed. His turnovers are absurd in number and character.
That said, I think this win was actually earned and was the right outcome.

As much as Dani has faults I’m pretty sure he won the ball back for and/or sprung most of our breaks. And I’m not sure that sitting in a low block and playing counter is really a great fit for what he’s good at.

3 wins in a raw including one at LAFC and another at St Louis? Wow, also first ever wins against all 3 of them right right? (San Diego is cheating in that one)

I'll take the W.  But today's second half was uglier than the ugliest Surly prom date.  Shit, it had my wife yelling "what the fucking fuck?" at the TV no fewer than 20 times.  We came back from the rain delay with a plan of "try not to lose....but don't try TOO hard."

Possession - or lack thereof, and constantly losing it or never even making an easy move to keep it - was shittacular.  I know, I know, we spent years complaining about "cool, we win possession 65-35 but can't score goals, so fuck that shit," but goddamn....we don't have to OWN possession, just maybe don't utterly quit on it.

We beat LAFC twice in 2022.

Yeah, there’s times when you cede possession because it’s part of the game plan like last week and times you do it because you cannot get on the ball or complete the simplest of passes like today.

Gave our tickets to the kids, so we'll be watching from the comfort of our living room.
VERDE!

Was chilly as hell, yet again.

So many damn chances, so many misses. Super frustrating. Stu’s save right at the end looked to be a point-saver.

Our best chances came on the first two minutes.  I keep waiting for our offense to click, but they really haven't yet.

Owen played another good match.

Buka is pretty ineffective when he gets the ball on the defensive side.

Defense has only conceded 3 goals in 7 games - that's incredible.

One point is better than nothing.

Great chances early, then a real shift back to a strong attack with late subs. Kolmanic adds a real spark.

Man, I wish we had better vision to get Vasquez over the top on a quick counter attack. We still want to slow things down too much, pass in our half, and give the ball away when we cross midfield. Just lob a few over the top so the defense has to stay honest and open the field up.

That was my bad. We've been to every game this year outside of the San Diego game. Good news is we're not gonna make the LA Galaxy game so enjoy your perfect weather for that one.

I can't remember seeing an MLS team look this tactically helpless against another MLS team.  At both ends of the field. And undisciplined, lazy-ass passing.

Nico wanted this to be a Sabovic/Cascante type of game, next time let's consider trying Ilie/Svatok and maybe White does not score four fucking times.

Doesn't seem worth breaking down individual play, it was all so shitty across the board.

Ah well, 4th place was fun.

But…I mean…the mouse is ok.
So, there’s that.
Horribad, across the board. No bright spots. Even Dani’s shot from distance, just emphasized that it’s about the only kinda shot he takes.

Ilie is out with a hamstring injury, but Cascante should not start against a great offensive team again.
