My biggest issue is spending $30 million on an offensive squad that does not work together and cannot finish.

This is some of the worst goalkeeping I've ever seen. Dude should be sold and replaced immediately.

Nico wanted this to be a Sabovic/Cascante type of game, next time let's consider trying Ilie/Svatok and maybe White does not score four fucking times

No more Nicos

While not without fault, Brad Stuver was not the reason Austin lost the game.  Vancouver took 27 shots, 11 on goal, and 10 of the shots were either great or good according to the metrics.

It's not on Stuver that Vancouver was able to take 20+ shots inside the 18.  Stuver saved 6 including the pk.

White was left alone 8 yards from goal (Cascante/Gally) for a 1v1 against Stuver - 1st goal.

White was left alone 9 yards from goal (Cascante/Gally) for a 1v1 one against Stuver - 2nd goal.  It started with a poor clearance from Stuver that went straight to Vancouver at mid-pitch, but all of the defenders were there and could have defended.

Takaoka was left alone (Cascante) in the six when a corner glanced off the head of Dani and was one touched into the net.  3rd goal.

Vancouver was able to receive the ball 10 yards from goal, receives ball and shoots, Stuver missed, ball bounces off the post to White who is left alone and he shoots it through BHI's face into the back of the goal.  4th goal.  Stuver should have grabbed the initial shot.

Dani loses the a ball in our defensive side, 2v2 with BHI and Svatok - both defenders close on one Vancouver player leaving open pass to wide open White for a 1v1 against Stuver.  5th goal.

That was awful marking by the back line even by MLS standards.

Fair enough.

12:45ish kick today with a national broadcast on Fox.

We really need to take out last week's embarrassing loss on the Galaxy.

¡LISTO!

And Bukari comes in and kicks ass today.   Glad Vasquez got that goal.  He seemed snakebit. I don’t know what 14 was doing before the penalty getting caught up with Fagundez.  He froze his own teammate out.

Playing without a 9 or a 10 and losing both 8s or whatever is kinda hard. We were fucking trash in the second half, damn.

Yeah.  We have depth we haven't had for a while, but that depth is to switch out one or two players.  Clearly not deep enough to replace every position at the same time.

This was one of our worst performances in our history and that’s saying something. A 0-1 score is an insurmountable obstacle for us.

I wasn’t at the game because my daughter and her BF were there, but the crowd looked as dispirited and low energy as any I’ve ever seen at home.

1) Your daughter’s BF is more English than King Charles. For real. Nice kid, though, definitely wide-eyed at all the “Texas” going on all around him.

2) We’ve lost 3 out of the last 4, by a combined score of….10-1. Does that sound bad? It should. Because it’s very very bad.

Yeah, pitiful performance tonight.

Crowds are still showing up, but the engagement and attention in the stands is as low as it’s ever been. And given the lack of goals or scoring chances we are seeing, can you blame them/us?

Team showed a bit more urgency in the last 10 minutes or so. But you’re left wondering, where is that earlier on?

For real. This kid is so English he makes Hugh Grant seem like Ron White, so we’re going with a full immersion. So far he’s been to Amaya’s taco village and H-E-B.

Uzuni is straight ass. He had a perfect look at the goal and instead of a committed strike, he touch passes it to the keeper. WTF.

To this point….   The supporter section basically missed the second goal because they were so enamored with throwing water on themselves.  And when we had that free kick just outside the box, they got really loud in whatever song they were singing woth drums kicking in *right* when we were running up to kick it - how does that help when drums all the sudden start banging as our dude is running up to kick it? I swear 70% of that side isn’t watching the game.  I love the enthusiasm but it’s like they are at another event.

Are all supporters sections like this?  If so, I’ll give them a pass.  But it’s like if we started screaming the Texas Fight chant as loud as possible when our offense is working in the Red Zone of DKR and about to score in order to prove which side of the stadium is the loudest.

Bottom line, it sure seems like the “supporters section” is 100% about self-indulgent performative shit and 0% about actually strategically supporting the team as they play.

I have an extra pair of tickets for tonight's match v. El Paso.  Section 118, Row 9 -- asking price is "free."  If you want to see a match with your kid, this would be a good one to go to.  You'd have to sit next to me and my wife, and she gets cranky when our team plays like shit, but otherwise, she's pretty nice.

Anybody want 2 free tickets to tonight's game, or know of somebody else?

I can't make it. They are in section 128. Send pm with email or phone number.

You can convince Brisket's wife to ditch him and sit with you.

You're 21 minutes on the way to a correct prediction...

So apparently, going down 2 goals at home to the El Paso Fucking Locomotive is all it takes to light a fire under your team's ass after 70 minutes?

Whodathunk?

Austin hometown kid put two in for El Paso.. that's pretty cool I guess..

That was really terrible soccer until Wolff, Sanchez and Biro came in. Vazquez still should have scored twice prior to the switch. And that second El Paso goal was a cluster fuck ending with a missed save. But El Paso should not have been able to hang with us, that's bad fucking news. Or just more confirmation that this team's standing was smoke an mirrors before losing by multiple goals in 3 out of the last 4 league games.

I believe this team is hot garbage without Sanchez and Wolff on the field.  I'd be fine if Rubio didn't see the field again.

Saw a clip from the game last night on TT and holy shit there are a TON of open seats.  I know it was an Open Cup game and not a league game, but is that indicative of how the MLS games have been attended?

Regular Austin FC games have much better attendance and the longest "sell-out" streak in MLS.  Some MLS teams have horrible attendance for their regular games - Houston, for example.

This. This team is a mess.

We started with Obi, Dubi, Zan, Rubio, and Cascante - all usual off the bench players.  However, we also started with 2 of the 3 DPs.  El Paso was ready with their full starting line-up and is a decent USL squad.  There is no good reason that Austin didn't score first and hold a lead until the end.

Wolff looked great once again.  Unfortunately, with his rising stock I'm afraid he might not be here a year from now.
