Right after the game I had to go take a piss so I didn't burst once we got on the train.  Walking against the grain of the crowd coming towards me and I notice Claudio Reyna, in a suit, a phone to his

  • So my boy got invited to assessments for the Austin FC Academy.  Three rounds of attrition with each assessment and then a scrimmage if I understand correctly.  Pretty stoked for him.  Managing his ex

That. Was fucking. NUTS. Wildly frustrated that we couldn’t put more than one in with a man advantage, but my frustration didn’t appear to help them. My wife had a conflict, so I took one of my olde

That foul in the 87th minute showed why Austin is going to lose this game. It was so dumb. You know that guy is just going to kick it out of bounds, yet he goes for a ball he clearly won't get and fouls the player. So stupid.

Also, if any of y’all needed anything from any of your Korean friends tonight, you were hosed. Every Korean within 100 miles of Austin was at this game to see their hero. And…they got what they came for.
Uzuni is worthless. $12 million for him to score…6 more goals than I did.
And y’all who say “if only we had Vasquez,” he was far from impressive before he got hurt.
We get jack shit from our DPs, and it’s killing us. Other things need work, but if you don’t have goal scorers in a game that IS WON BY SCORING GOALS, You are fucked.
Sigh.

34 games, 37 goals. tied for 3rd worst on the table. -8 GD on the season. riveting stuff.

I went from being a season ticket holder during the inaugural season to  barely making an effort to pirate a stream now that MLS moved to Apple. I'm sure the ownership group manages to make a profit with sold out season tickets and their $20 craft beers, so yay them. But while Austin FC is still a "young" franchise, its largely been defined by a shit brand of uninspired football. Hiring that f'n stiff Estevez with his 37% win rate at FC Dallas told me all I needed to know about management priorities. They are fine with a shit product, as long as people keep shoveling money their way.

Yeah....we're still in.  It's an activity that my wife and I really enjoy doing together, and she is really into it and invested in a bunch of the players.  That said, she's frustrated as hell by the same problems, over and over: we can't get fucking goals out of our designated players.

And yeah, Nico's inexplicable sub strategy of "I regularly don't sub until the 80th fucking minute" also makes her ragey.

I saw a post on reddit that there was no longer a waitlist for season tickets, and sure enough you can buy 'em today. Who could have guessed that  a perpetually limp-dick offensive attack and dreadfully boring soccer would tank ticket demand. Hopefully the possibility of lost gameday revenue will get management's attention and spur them to make some much needed changes. Most likely they will just double the price of concessions and call it a day.
