Agreed. Pereira allows Poche and/or Fagundez to play where they're best at, and Manneh isn't in the "he just needs more PT to shine" stage of his career, he just isn't the solution to an absent Gallagher.
July 21, 20214 yr When the fuck are we gonna sign a couple more dudes? We need bodies, preferably skilled bodies, ASAP. Beginning to question the club’s dedication to winning this season.

July 21, 20214 yr I realize I’m being melodramatic. Just disappointed there doesn’t appear to be much urgency in the front office. Hope they’re just good at keeping secrets.

Hope they’re just good at keeping secrets. That's the big question - How much do we trust Claudio's words? If we sign two more guys during this window, it will be completely consistent with what he's said all along about the roster build. If we don't sign anyone, then we have a low rent squad. There are a lot of factors that come with bringing a player into camp - player, agent, family, buying team, selling team, etc. Sean Rubio's said that he's more surprised that any deals happen than any time one falls through. THAT SAID, there should be several deals in the works right now, with a couple to come through soon. As far as keeping secrets, Cecilio and Pochettino were telegraphed. Djitte and Kolmanic came out of nowhere. So we've done a little of both.
July 22, 20214 yr Going to my first game tonight Is there consensus on getting to the game? Train, shuttle from domain, Uber, Pavemint parking, park at brewery and walk after having a couple.
July 22, 20214 yr Train is super convenient for me coming from the East side. You can find the schedule on CapMetro's website. But last game I rode back with a friend who just parked at Domain and walked over. I imagine with a late kickoff it might not be too terrible to drive and park tonight.
July 22, 20214 yr My go to has become to park in a $20 pay lot across street from Hopsquad. Other good options for free parking have been to grab pregame margaritas at Dos Salsas and leave car there for walk down Burnet or park at Oskar Blues, grab a couple beers, then walk over. Those free options are a bit longer walks but not bad at all. Train and busses are good options as well.
July 22, 20214 yr Is parking at pickle research center an option? Their website says $6 parking, but I can't tell if you need a UT sponsor for the lots
July 22, 20214 yr Is parking at pickle research center an option? Their website says $6 parking, but I can't tell if you need a UT sponsor for the lotsNope. Google pavemint (that spelling) + Austin FC. That site handles all the 3rd party parking lots. The orange lot is a 2 minute walk to the gate. $45 though.
July 23, 20214 yr Why the fuck is this game at 8:30 local time? What is this, the college football MNC game?

July 23, 20214 yr Is this getting pushed past the 8:48 start or are we just gonna get screwed out of some game viewing because of the earlier weather delay?
July 23, 20214 yr Is this getting pushed past the 8:48 start or are we just gonna get screwed out of some game viewing because of the earlier weather delay?Just moved to ESPN2.

July 23, 20214 yr Appreciate it. Anything interesting in the first 8 minutes? We have the better of the possession, but as usual... nothing of any consequence on goal
July 23, 20214 yr I haven't heard this chant/song before, there are horns in the stands now? Maybe I just couldn't hear it before. Edited July 23, 20214 yr by Chips O'Toole
July 23, 20214 yr (Inside MLS board meeting) "People still aren't taking the MLS seriously. Any ideas?" "Big game coming up - will be on national TV. I think we should kick it off at 8:50 local time and have both teams wear the same colored jerseys." "Love it"
July 23, 20214 yr Lol... crowd with the 7-4 chant. [emoji41]To the tune of "Yellow Submarine"...Seven-four, seven-fourIt was the vote…That built our homeAnd now we live…Among the treesListos! Verde! Austin FC
July 23, 20214 yr Best opportunity so far was when their goal keeper cleared it off of his centerback's face.
July 23, 20214 yr Austin needs 3 points here. This Seattle lineup tonight is not good. The lack of finishing is brutal. Although this leviathan at striker has caused some problems. Need to keep him out of the back. Edited July 23, 20214 yr by ztejas
July 23, 20214 yr I'm not high on Manneh, but he seems like the only one not giving the ball away around the box and he has been involved in two great opportunities on crosses, his nearpost header and Dominguez' shot that sailed wide. At times, I feel like I see some strategy in the attacking 3rd, but most of the time we just try and play a ball to someone who is guarded and hope for the best. Edited July 23, 20214 yr by Chips O'Toole
July 23, 20214 yr I do like that Seattle has had the same terrible jerseys for like 15 years now. They stick to their guns.
July 23, 20214 yr They're playing a fucking 15 year old. Gotta score. 0-0 would be an embarrassing result.
July 23, 20214 yr 51 minutes in and the first shot on goal. Ring heads a perfect cross directly into the keeper's gloves.
July 23, 20214 yr Is it just me, or does this team fail to recognize opportunities to make a break? Advantage in numbers gets wasted over and over. Run, dammit.

Not just you. We've definitely been guilty of that a couple times. Space to run and we pass it back or across.
July 23, 20214 yr Just now, RamjetFDO said: We are some back-passing mofos. Which, when you're dominating possession, is fine, as long as you, you know, have the lead.
July 23, 20214 yr Manneh, despite his flaws, is a pretty athletic high-motor guy. We might want to take advantage of that.
July 23, 20214 yr The thing is, I like a lot of these guys outside Poch and Redes. But there is no 9 and we will score 0.33 goals per game until we find one. and dammit.
July 23, 20214 yr 2 minutes ago, ztejas said: This is going to be another scoreless draw, isn't it? Lol or not. Holy shit that's awful.
