Thought this kid had some good takes.

tl;dw:

1. Wrexham currently have about a "mid table" League 1 roster;

2. There's more money going from League 2 to League 1 but it's only several hundred thousand compared to the millions going from League 1 to the Championship

3. There are a lot of big clubs in League 1 so competition for talent will be more intense at this level.

4. He thinks with a few good signings they could compete for the playoff - he's not optimistic about auto-promotion in the first year since this is a bigger "jump"

Since this was posted 2 weeks ago, Barrow has gone 0-4-1 to be only one point ahead of 8th position for the final spot in the playoff, and they have a Mansfield town team looking to secure 2nd position on Saturday.  Thats a rough finish if they fall out completely.

edit: actually was posted after the first loss of the past 5 matches.  But could easily end up gaining 1 point over their final 6. And that one point was a draw with crawley town, who are the side 1 point behind them.

Wrexham beat Stockport and Mansfield town draws, so wrexham finish 2nd.

also of note, Doncaster had won 10 straight before its draw today, to leap up the table into 5th position and a great chance at promotion.

And barrow misses the tournament by a single point because it only got 2 points its last 5 matches.

On the flip side Barrow totally blew it. The draw today dropped them out of the promotion playoff.

Getting ready to host Wycombe on Paramount+ in the first game of the season. League One is a whole new beast.

It's also on the CBS Sports channel (on Uverse, at least).

Wrexham definitely chasing the match today against Bolton.  Still scoreless at 30, but Bolton are showing that League One won't be the cakewalk the previous two seasons felt like for the boys from Wales.

Salvaged a point

dont know the teams and who is good, but Stockport coming out hot with 6 points on two clean sheets.

Ollie Palmer with an easy finish after a beautiful buildup. 1-nil to Wrexham in the 15th against Shrewsbury.

Shrewsbury defense shredded and a goalkeeper caught well out of position equals an easy 3rd goal for Wrexham.

Just peaked at League One standings for first time.  What a start.

LOL

Eli never misses a chance to troll Brady.

3 minutes in - Wrexham 1-nil over Brummie City.  UP THE TOWN!

The Fighting Brummie Bradies equalize in the 22nd

2 (so far) in the second half has pretty much closed this one out.  Wrexham don't seem to have the answers today.

At least there was a pretty decent near pitch-wide melee just now... Looked like Mullin was about to bite the back of some Brummie calf, but thought better of it.

A beautiful afternoon in Wales see the hosts take an early lead with a nice cross and far post header. 1-nil Wrexham in the 8th.

Horrendous marking gives Northampton an equalizer in the 27th.

Elliott Lee with a soft header in the 56th. 3-1 to Wrexham.

"A thumping finish from James McClean" makes it 4 for the home side.

Early morning (dogs plus insomnia) match watching... Mansfield controlling the first 5 minutes and a run against play for Wrexham give the Fighting Deadpools an early 1-nil lead.

Flipped this one at the end - 1-0 held up. The end was a little stressful, but no real threats to score.

Wrexham v Cambridge United is on CBS Sports now. 1 - 1 at the break.

It’s interesting that there appears to be a top 3 separating from the rest of the table, looking at things like losses and goal diff as much as point totals. And wrexham are one of those sides. But with only 2 automatic promotions available, ending up 3rd would be bitter and only earn you home games for the play-ins.  Can’t let up at all.

they do at least have a solid buffer for making the top 6 and giving themselves a chance.

Penalty in the 88th... Heartbreaking equalizer at the close.

Wrexham has finished the first half of league play and currently is in second place. Hopefully they continue to play well and improve.

For instance, it would be nice if they stopped getting draws with teams in the bottom quarter of the league and win those games... :(

1-nil to the Fighting Deadpools in the first 90 seconds!

They really need a few positive results here in the next handful of games if they want to keep pace with the top 2.

Wow - crazy last five minutes.  Crawley Town score the equalizer in the 89th minute, but Elliot Lee buries a header in the last minute of stoppage time to give Wrexham the 3 points!

And wycombe caught a red late and dropped points to a side in relegation position.
