This has lead to a plethora of tweets saying "fuck the Big 12, Campbell needs to get us into the SEC." Lol these goons think they can buy their invitation. I also don't think it's going to end well with this Cody Campbell character. The football team and fans seem to treat him as some unlimited piggy bank. I imagine he'll get sick of that shit after awhile. Why the ever living fuck do they need to be throwing shit on the field during gametime? Oh yeah, it's 2025, and being a complete asshole about literally everything is considered a virtue. Edited October 17Oct 17 by 'stache

The only thing they really have going for them is their schedule after the next 2 games being cake. If I was Kirby Smart & Georgia, I wouldn't throw a single pass tomorrow until they proved they could stop the run. They were extremely lucky to beat Washington State at home this past week, a bounce or two the wrong way and they've got one of the worst losses in CFB this season. I'm just not buying them as a true contender. You know, honestly, that would actually be the most hilarious thing ever if they didn't even attempt a pass and win by 21. I will probably die of fucking laughter.

He's been one of the highest grading DTs in the country all season and he's kind of the emotional leader of the defense. Luckily we have plenty of quality depth behind him, but still sucks. Damn. Tough loss. Good luck to the guy.

He already has 9.5 TFL and 8.5 sacks, respectively, in half a season in Lubbock. The Red Raiders are in the driver's seat for a spot in the Big 12 Championship because of a transformed defense, and for as good as Jacob Rodriguez, Romello Height and others have been, Bailey's explosive pass rushing has played a massive role in the turnaround. -- Connelly 2. The Red Raiders boast the stingiest run defense in the country -- allowing only 62.5 rushing yards per game -- and Rodriguez is right at the center of it all. The senior has made his impact felt in the ground game and the air game, forcing multiple fumbles, deflecting passes and snatching multiple interceptions. It's safe to say opposing offenses hate to see him coming. -- Uggetti Damn, Bailey. 8.5 sacks in 6 games is damn good. Well deserved honor.

Hope they can win the conference. It would be nice for them if Game Day went to Lubbock. A bunch of 50+ year old men whining about not being able to throw tortillas onto a football field perfectly sums up Tech's fan base. They've always been douches because they think the world is somehow against them.

The line moved to 7.5 when it was known he was likely going to start. Moved to 6.5 when it was announced Hammond would start and held there. We have a big advantage in the trenches but anything can happen, I'm excited to watch this game.

October 18Oct 18 There's that stout tech defense we all remember, lulz. Oh well, I guess Cody will have to spend some more money on NIL....or more likely on lobbyists so that Tech can mooch the big boy's TV revenue.

October 20Oct 20 bad boys.mp3 Quote So with the No. 14 Red Raiders off to one of the best starts in school history at 6-1 -- with a chance to win the Big 12 and make the College Football Playoff down the stretch -- Hocutt and McGuire have asked fans to do their part. McGuire said he understands the tradition, because his own daughter, as a student, even participated. "We know that as Red Raiders, no one tells us what to do. We make our own decisions," Hocutt said. "This situation is on me. I leaned into throwing tortillas at the beginning of the football season. Now I must ask everyone to stop." And it is for that reason that after the bigxii told us what to do, we acquiesce! We are cancelling tortillas! Quote Hocutt said it was evident during Saturday's loss at Arizona State that the Texas Tech brand is stronger than ever. He was asked by a reporter if it's a coincidence that the Big 12 is cracking down on them now, because of the strides they've made in their program. "We want to be the team that when we're beat, their fans storm the field because it means that much to play Texas Tech football right now. So I can just say 15-1 still exists," Hocutt said, referencing that offseason vote. "It's us against the world in this Big 12 conference, and our goal is to get to Arlington and to raise that trophy." Fucking dildos, lulz
October 20Oct 20 Absolutely on board with banning the tortilla toss, it's dumb. Probably in the minority with Tech fans, or maybe not, but there's no real reason to continue that going forward imo
October 20Oct 20 Tortilla throwing was fun and cool. I was a kid at the 1995 Cotton Bowl and the tortillas and the Song Girls were deeply memorable. They should let them have a dedicated tortilla throw time. Every step to suck the uniqueness and fun from CFB is bad.
October 20Oct 20 Maybe Chilympiad can make it’s way back to San Marcos and reignite the tortilla throw.

TLDR it got Streisand'd by the Big 12 office in the offseason so the fans said fuck you and the tortilla throwing has been amplified this season, and then the Kansas coach made a big deal about it in the week leading up to our game, then he lied about someone throwing a knife from the stands at one of this assistants and then the Big 12 fined him for lying about it and also fined us for throwing tortillas. Big 12 then amped up the fine so Tech officials said enough is enough and banned tortilla throwing.
