I mean, without context, that is not necessarily referring to an injury. It's just a vague, obvious statement. Significant injuries during the scrimmage could potentially impact practice plans in the coming weeks, position battles or rotation decisions, etc.

Could be. I could see Nahlin saying something that dumb while voicing to the deplorables that he summer's in Tahoe like anyone give a flying fuck.

I had the chance to talk to a buddy who has been to multiple practices and every person on this thread except the clown that thinks NFL scouts make a bunch of money would trust this buddy's unvarnishe

Who tore an ACL while doing Yoga. Carlos Correa got a broken rib from a "massage". Maybe frost bite from an ice bath?

Any idea of the severity of them?

IT injury notes (not good)

Spoiler

We’re not going into detail because we don’t know the real diagnoses but Sark isn’t addressing the media until Monday and this stuff will get out.

Roschon Johnson, Isaiah Neyor, Junior Angilau all left the field. Johnson was carted to the locker room, Neyor walked to the locker room, Angilau limped to the sideline.

Johnson’s is believed to be an ankle. We’re not speculating yet on the other two.

We have also heard Alfred Collins did not participate and it’s possible he’ll miss the first handful of games of the season. Sounds like he was injured earlier in the week.

Other than that, how was the play Mrs. Lincoln? We’ll get to the play on the field after we gather some more notes. It was definitely a first scrimmage judging by execution.

I need to hear from Thatguy, not someguy.

Ewers sprained his mullet.  He’s listed as day to day (aren’t we all?), but if the opener was tomorrow he’d probably play.

Damn that is 3 bad ones. Neyor in particular would be killer right after losing Hall

Hopefully Neyor isn't to bad since they said he walked off.

Well okay, gotdamn. Fingers crossed nothing serious.

Sigh. These guys are already proclaiming our wide receiver group "the all-time top 3 at Texas." I don't know, maybe we should see them play first?

If he was carted off the field. Highly unlikely that it wasn't serious.

Burton and Wells both put comments on that thread, don’t know if it’s early speculation on some of those injuries but it’s not good

Was this a scrimmage or the Normandy invasion?

Hearing Card took the injury news a lot better and more maturely than Ewers who seemed "disinterested" and "unempathetic".

RoJo is important in so many ways, especially his blocking in pass protection.  Also lowers the chances of using a 21 personnel package

Well this dude was also just wrong about Hall, so…?

RoJo is so tough he would just tell them to cut it off and put on a bolt-on and be good to go!

Hopefully just something like a bone bruise...

Non-contact knee doesn't necessarily mean serious, but obviously it could mean that.

OB practice notes

Spoiler

The Longhorns wrapped up the first full scrimmage of camp on Saturday morning/early afternoon.

Here are some notes collected from the OB staff from the scrimmage.

*The two biggest pieces of news from the scrimmage was a pair of injuries to running back Roschon Johnson and wide receiver Isaiah Neyor. From what was conveyed to us, Roschon was carted off of the field in what was described as a fair amount of pain, while Neyor was able to limp off under his own power. Junior Angilau was also banged up in the scrimmage at one point and went to the locker room.

* The biggest offensive play of the day came from Bijan Robinson, who had a long 50+ yard touchdown run and then didn't see much action, if any, beyond that.

* Once Johnson went out with an injury, freshman Jaydon Blue took the majority of the work at running back.

* Overall, it sounds like the defense had the better day between the two sides of the ball, especially among the first-team units. Some not so nice words were used to describe the offense as a whole by multiple sources.

* Quinn Ewers threw a pick-six early in the scrimmage and it sounds like Hudson Card did the same (D'Shawn Jamison with the honors) during red-zone work later in the scrimmage.

" One source said, "Doesn't matter what O-line they throw out there. They are getting killed. Defense winning by a mile."

* Said another source: "Absolutely atrocious display on offense. Quinn sacked (by Vernon Broughton) to end his 2 minute drill after getting maybe 15-20 yards."

* Another source mentioned that the quarterback play was less than inspiring. Mentioned that Maalik Murphy did not receive much playing time.

* Among the highlights from the quarterbacks today was a touchdown pass from Hudson Card to Juan Davis and a nice deep throw from Ewers to Casey Cain.

* Multiple sources reported that Jordan Whittington was the most impressive of the day at the wide receiver position.

The plan is to hopefully add to the notes a little later today, but this is an early glimpse at how things went

You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.  3 starters in one scrimmage?  All on the same side of the ball?

5-7 is back on the menu boys!

Every single year "the offense sucks!" in the first scrimmage, and then "the offense won the day!" in the second scrimmage. We're right on track.

lol if the OL and “defense has just been killing the offense” bits are remotely accurate, this team is going to be garbage

And a terrible Dline that is man handling the offensive line….

Best part of scrimmages is if the offense wins then this defense still sucks! And if the defense wins then the offense and defense both suck!
