I had the chance to talk to a buddy who has been to multiple practices and every person on this thread except the clown that thinks NFL scouts make a bunch of money would trust this buddy's unvarnishe

I like how the 'Ewers isn't ready because he's not a real redshirt freshman' takes have vanished as quickly as they appeared.

On a more serious note, get ready for some real growing pains. This news doesn't make all of Ewers' reported struggles in practice vanish.

If it’s the guy you want he’s mobile, if it’s the guy you don’t he’s playing scared. The guy you don’t like is a statue while the other guy gets praised for at least standing tall in the pocket.   It’s all about how you apply your favorite clichés.

I'll include that in my next report.   Also I hear Ewers will start.

Ewers getting 3+ weeks with the ones to prepare for Bama makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I’m still shocked people actually thought Ewers would come here without being promised the job first. I think he’s better than Card anyway but with all the money in play now people want guarantees.

The exact evidence we needed to show how much you've done for this program to the non-believers on this board. Couldn't have done it without you bossman. Butt pats all around.

It was pretty funny to see the 995ers say “Card is doing a better job of protecting the ball” two paragraphs above where they said “each QB threw multiple interceptions”. Such a lazy take.

I'm guessing the pay sites made it seem like a back and forth. Anyone with any sense knew who qb1 was the minute Ewers signed. He's one of the best recruits, coaches always play out the starting battle for a bit, and the Arkansas game. That's all anyone needed.

I'd rather ride with the struggles than watch Card do the same shit he did last year.

Let the narrative changing begin!

Texas Tech guy last night:

I don't recall Asciing this guy.

this is where things got annoying. Wells saying Card does everything better, but the deep ball. The opinions and takes move with the direction the wind is blowing. I dont mind them getting it wrong, but that shit is annoying. There is no way anyone could have watched the open practice and thought either QB was head and shoulders better that day

I guess I respect Gerry. Burton is kind of a less shitty version of Bill Little, but IT just keeps getting team news wrong.

IT is far and away the best 9.95er. Even they whiffed on this one.

So what’s the new OB narrative gonna be? “Sark caved to donor pressure. As of Thursday night, it was Card.”

Brian Davis was on B&E before this post talking how he thought it was Hudson Card because Ewers was not ready.

Watching the Austin based media get embarrassed after decades of doing the same right back to UT athletics is 👨🏻‍🍳 💋

I admit that I've been buried this week. What, specifically, have you heard from this team and coaching staff that makes you so down-hearted?

Not downhearted, I lost the ability to muster any emotion for this team 7-8 years ago. When I saw that they didn't care then I couldn't either. But to answer your question, it is more what I am not hearing. We can hope amongst themselves that they are aware that the team disgraced themselves last year, and they are focusing on not doing that again. But all I am hearing is the neat NIL deals in the works, and what a great recruiting class is coming in. I imagine if Jimmy Johnson were the HC he would get pissed if he heard any of that talk. He would remind them regularly that they embarrased themselves last year, and the only thing they need to think about is redemption. I personaly don't care if they go 5-7 again as long as they play violent emotional football, every play, every week, they do that and everything else will work itself out.

You hear that? It's weeks of pressure spewing out of the football board and the universe shifting into harmony. A harmony where surly posters can join together in celebrating one of the few uncontroversial topics and storied pastimes of this community: shitting on $9.95ers.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

My old source was a stupid lying idiot but now I have a new source who swears he knows everything and I believe him and that will be $9.95, sir.

Who’s the more foolish?  The 9.95er or the fool that pays for their bullshit?

They are telling you bedtime stories and stealing yo money.

It’s gonna be card! Season is over! Who’s the next coach??!!!

This will be the 'excuse' for starting if he doesn't pan out.
