I mean, $2k for a hobby isn't the worst thing ever. I've known people who blow that at a strip club or in a casino in a weekend.

My hobby is wildlife photography. I wince every time I think of the money.

Ya. The lens I use the most was 13. And I have three other lenses. Then there's two camera bodies, tripods, the travel...

When I worked the NASCAR circuit, I just rented extra glass, of needed, depending on the track. Local shop hooked me up, and “the boss” was much more akin to expensing that as a write-off then outright purchasing.

Part of me misses that time, part of me doesn’t.

A V8 has never left me covered in glitter or given me a drunken OTPHJ.

Different strokes for different folks. [That's a level 3 dad joke right there folks]

I stand by mantra of: "Anything can be a hobby as long you indicate it on your taxes and lose money doing it."

Having raised a boy through little league, select, and high school baseball, I think this is actually pretty stinkin' genius.  Probably cost a total of $10, and only about $.50 if you happen to have an old segment of 3" PVC laying around.

Imagine the time this would save. Don’t come in my mentions saying “stop being lazy.” Let’s be real, old or young, no one likes to pick up balls after BP.
