February 21Feb 21 Like me, I'm sure you asked... This is pretty common in Kashmir—people see copper utensils as both an investment and a status symbol. We’ve got massive samovars and other seriously heavy stuff, and it’s not cheap—this stuff can cost thousands of rupees. If you serve someone on a steel plate here, they might take it as an insult. The process of tinning copper utensils is called Kalai in Kashmiri. Honestly, this guy is being pretty careful compared to some. There are workers who straight-up wash copper with concentrated sodium hydroxide and breathe in the fumes like it’s no big deal. But why tin it? To protect them from corrosion. Copper develops a toxic layer of salts if exposed to atmosphere or acidic substances. Tin is s lot less reactive and hence safe.
February 21Feb 21 Author I am not a rap guy, but this guy’s freestyle on a video chat with a couple of US Marines (that look like they’re 12-yo) seems pretty cool to me: https://x.com/theltcolusmc/status/1892718395004473616?s=61&t=y24cLAxRGy73J6BPsctsHQ (Can’t embed X anymore because immamac has philosophical differences with X’s owner).

Essentially a big lazy Susan in a main cabinet in the kitchen or den. In the front is syrup, or pots and pans, or something else so you don’t need to fear your neighbors or pastors poking around when they come over for small group. But once they leave, flip it around and there’s the hooch.

March 1Mar 1 Getting the ham and cheese omelette MRE told you the rest of your day was gonna suck. And the next day because you'd be shitting your guts out while your platoon was kicking the porta shitter while your ass screamed. The shame was real. March 1Mar 1 Florida played a home series with Air Force earlier this month, and the USAF Wings of Blue paratrooper team jumped to the field pre-game. Apparently no IBS was triggered, Florida won 7-0.

March 11Mar 11 Author This man is very smart. Manufacturers should make this option available on every single pull-start machine. https://x.com/daysofnoahgen6/status/1899294427564081536?s=61&t=y24cLAxRGy73J6BPsctsHQ
March 11Mar 11 Or maybe have a heart any buy a mower for your elderly parents that doesn't have a pull string start. I would've suggested just paying someone to mow for them, but my 80-year-old FIL would sooner commit seppuku than not mow his own yard.
