The alfalfa bales I had to throw repeatedly on the back of trailers were a lot more dense than that straw bale.

Yeah. Those aren’t agricultural bales. Still pretty entertaining though. I’d sit and watch for a while. Hard work fascinates me.

In 8th grade concert band we played Elvira. I played tuba that concert season. I got to do the “oom poppa, omm poppa, mow mow“ part solo. Highlight of my musical career.

Jealous. Back in the '70s, we had to sing "Suicide is Painless" in elementary school music class with a couple of kids off to the side playing plastic recorders...poorly.

The music teacher was the mom of one of my good friends. She was going through a divorce and drinking a lot at the time.

Did she have lots of tattoo's, make other obviously poor decisions, and make you tingly in your special places?   This may explain a lot.

That yoke work is like duck's feet - working like crazy to keep the outside view nice and smooth!

Never knew this about him.  Great character actor.  Loved him in O Brother Where Art Thou, and many other roles.

Ancient dinosaur footprints dating back 115 million years were discovered in Northwest Travis County, Texas, after recent flooding swept away layers of sediment and brush that had long hidden them, according to officials.

...

The tracks were left by meat-eating dinosaurs similar to an Acrocanthosaurus, a roughly 35-foot-long bipedal carnivore, Brown said. Additional prints found nearby might have represented a large herbivorous sauropod dinosaur called Paluxysaurus, which is the official state dinosaur of Texas.
