August 7, 20223 yr Season thread full of updates. We lost the Community Shield. We won our league opener 2-0 at West Ham. More to come.
August 21, 20223 yr Author Newcastle 3 City 3 Speaking of boredom, poor play today. Point salvaged in a 5 minute span by Haaland instinctive positioning and finish and then by standard issue Kevin De Bruyne wizardry.
August 27, 20223 yr Author City 4 Crystal Palace 2 Still playing lethargically, Haaland hat trick helps save the day. Not playing like champions of anything, plenty of time to get better.
September 1, 20223 yr Author City 6 Nottingham Forest 0 Acceptable performance for the first time in a few matches.
September 3, 20223 yr Author Aston Villa 1 City 1 More lazy and lethargic offense perfectly happy to pass it forever with no attack. By the time the attack woke up it was too late and Villa had energy. Stats will say we controlled the game but it was not an impressive performance and City deserved not to get the 3 points. September 8, 20223 yr Author Delayed report as I was hoping to find time to watch the full replay but it's not going to happen this week. Sevilla 0 City 4 Controlled from start to finish with some more incisive runs than the weekend's letdown. Of course some of that had to do with how Sevilla played versus Villa.
September 15, 20223 yr Author City 2 Dortmund 1 Stifled a bit, unlikely hero goal from John "Huge" Stones followed by Haaland rescuing City once again. Don't want to keep relying on his brilliance to save us but then again that's why you get someone like that.
September 17, 20223 yr Haaland goal today looked more like D & GK panic than his own skill. But that's what teams have to account for. He gets loose and they assume he's going to embarrass them so they take risks.
September 19, 20223 yr Author Wolves 0 City 3 For once the opponent was literally outmanned. I only watched highlights so no penetrating analysis this time.

October 3, 20223 yr Author City 6 Trafford United 3 A bit of a disappointing defensive performance tbh but hey, it happens. Hat tricks for Foden and Haaland. Onward and upward. Edited October 3, 20223 yr by Huckleberry
October 6, 20223 yr Author City 5 FC København 0 Completely dominated a team that we should have completely dominated.
October 8, 20223 yr Author City 4 Southampton 0 Handled. Only watched highlights because well you all know what I was watching.
October 11, 20223 yr four pretty good games coming up for city with liverpool, arsenal, brighton, and dortmund. pretty big break that liverpool lost far and away their best player in diaz to injury so it goes from a 70% chance of outright win at anfield to more like 85%.
October 11, 20223 yr Saints supporters were breathing a sigh of relief that Southampton only lost 4 - 0 last weekend against City. Edited October 11, 20223 yr by yoladu
October 13, 20223 yr Author FC København 0 City 0 10 men, tired, rested some guys, but still a pretty weak effort. Iffy handball on Rodri but advanced.

October 23, 20223 yr Author City 3 Brighton & Hove Albion 1 Not great, not terrible. Still need to play better, hopefully urgency is building.
October 31, 20223 yr Author Dortmund 0 City 0 Leicester 0 City 1 More pretty uninspired play. The Dortmund match not really mattering. But thanks KDB for the 3 points.
December 22, 20223 yr Author I guess this season is still happening or something. City 3 Liverpool 2 in the most prestigious competition in the world, the Manchester City Invitational no sorry the League no Carling no Carabao Cup.
March 15, 20232 yr Author City 7 Leipzig 0 Haaland 5 goals. Imagine his sponsorship income potential if he wasn't so damn ugly.
April 1, 20232 yr Author City 4 Liverpool 1 Haaland 0 goals while healing. Good performance here but he'll obviously be needed moving forward.
April 11, 20232 yr Pretty much wire-to-wire domination. City shouldn't have to kill themselves to finish this off next week, which is immediately followed by Sheffield FA Cup final and the massive Arsenal clash.
April 26, 20232 yr Author City 4 Arsenal 1 Disappointing to give up that lazy goal in the 86th minute. Haaland's closer not good enough to redeem the squad. We will have to clean that up. Also, I literally love Kevin De Bruyne.

May 10, 20232 yr Author Real Madrid 1 City 1 Decent away first leg I suppose. A couple of beautiful strikes from each squad.
May 18, 20232 yr Author City 4 Real Madrid 0 Acceptable performance, all things considered. Some important matches coming up.
June 10, 20232 yr Author City 1 Inter Milan 0 A nervy match but a win. Still, a bit disappointing of a season without the quadruple. I suppose we'll have to sell some oil and buy some more players.

June 10, 20232 yr Finally this is put to bed, the UCL failures. The last two matches show what a grind a full, full season is on these teams. City weren't great in FA Cup final, nor today. It took some unusual heroics like a fantastic pass by Akanji and a monster last few minutes from Ederson. It may have helped City to play Bayern and Real prior to the final, when they weren't so drained.
June 11, 20232 yr Julian Alvarez just needs the elusive Carabao Cup. His career is meaningless until then. Edited June 11, 20232 yr by Texas Flood
