LSU plays the traditional SEC week 12 cupcake (UAB), their Tennessee Quality Loss tm gets murdered by unranked South Carolina, their Ole Miss Quality Win tm gets blown out by unranked Arkansas and they move up a spot to 5th.  I'm sure the committee is itching to put LSU in the top 4 to replace the loser of Ohio State/Michigan after they get a hard fought SECSECSEC road win over 4-8 A&M this weekend.

Yeah.  LSU ahead of USC and Tennessee is ridiculous (for those of you who don't remember, Tennessee beat them 40-13 in Baton Rouge mid-season).  I'd rate Clemson ahead of them.  Clemson, besides having one less loss actually beat Florida St.

Well, that’s not the AP poll, so …

  • For anyone like me who sat in Texas Stadium in early December 2001, Chris Simms would be the last person I'd want to speak on the difficulty level of winning the Big 12.

LSU has wins over Bama and Ole Miss plus a 1 pt loss to FSU. ALL ranked.

The only ranked team USC played was a loss.

Plus a 40-13 loss to Tennessee at home.  USC lost by 1 to #14 Utah and beat ranked UCLA and Oregon St.  You are really bad at facts.

Man..Your timing is worse than mine. If you are going to try to cap on the internet get your shit together. Look at the date of my post..shit changes week to week. When I posted that, USC had not played UCLA and Oregon State(ranked 21, LOL) was not even ranked. When having these type of discussions it's best to stay current as much as possible. That way you don't look like the clown that you are.

BTW, Ole Miss is still ranked higher than Oregon St(LOL).

This would be a great year for 8 team playoff.

With Clemson dropping after their loss today, it seems like the new #5 through #8 could beat anyone in the Top 4 spots.

It's gonna be brutal for TCU if they go 9-0 in conference but slip up in the Big 12 title game and that keeps them out of the playoff, when in 2014 the lack of a Big 12 title game kept them out.

Frankly I think they should get in either way, provided it's a close loss next week. And of course I would love for Texas to be the one delivering that loss.

Those cocksuckers from OSU surely will go above those cocksuckers from Bama, right?  Right?

TCU loses they are done.

Assuming the current 4-7 win I would expect an ohio state university to be 6 in the next rankings.

Or a great year to just go back to the old BCS and have Georgia play Michigan and dispense with the formalities.

Presuming they win out, that looks like Georgia, Michigan, TCU, and USC to me.

If LSU beats UGA, that might open a can of worms.

if TCU loses to KSU, that's wormier.  If USC loses the Pac 12 CCG, gets wormier still.

Yeah, more losses would definitely move things around.

LSU and Ohio State both got worked at home. Alabama lost on walkoffs on the road.

UGA, Michigan and TCU are in win or lose next week. USC in with a win. Williams wins the Heisman.

if KSU beats TCU next week, IMO a 1 loss Ohio State will get in because they have the better loss.  Go Frogs!  KSU is a focused team and TCU can be had.  Plus their game @ Ft Worth was tight.  Stop Duggan and you win.

TCU would still have one quality win and one quality loss vs a top 10 KSU if they lose next week.  I don't think a close loss by TCU should automatically plummet them in the rankings, but I know that's exactly what would happen.  Ohio State isn't getting another shot at Michigan and at some point the way you lost needs to count as much as the quality of the opponent.  Getting dominated at home in the last week of the season should be a huge red flag on any team's resume, regardless of opponent.  I feel dirty saying this, but I would vote Alabama #5 right now.

I hope for no upsets this next week. No Bama or Ohio State this year.

You think TCU can lose and still go?

Ohio St was donkey punched at home. A quality loss in a conference title game shouldn’t drop you below them imo.

Exactly. OSU can lose their last game and get in but TCU can’t?

TCU’s out of conference schedule will probably bite them in the ass if they lose to KSU.  It will be the excuse the committee will use to elevate Ohio State.

All about the helmet logo. That's why a human committee with zero computer input isn't the best idea. They should have just kept the BCS formula to rank teams for the playoff.

Which is the bigger brand?

A quick look at the stands of Amon Carter of a final home game and to complete an undefeated season will likely be the reason TCU gets bumped if at all possible.

What a load of shit now Ohio St is right there

You can argue all you want about what SHOULD happen if TCU loses.

But, I promise you that if they lose what will happen is that they won't be in the playoff.

Multiple national media people are saying TCU should be in, win or lose. Would the CFP committee do that? I'm not so sure but it's possible.

LOL at LSU only dropping to 11 with 3 losses, including getting pummeled by a 4 (now 5) win team.  That's the kind of performance the AP would drop us 10-12 spots for.

I think they can still get in if USC also loses.  Ohio St would get in with TCU in that case.

You would think someone that makes a living covering college football would have the most basic understanding of how it works figured out.

And of our losses combined, it has been by a total of 18 pts.

LSU lost to Tennessee alone by 27 pts.

I'd really like to see what happens if K State wins next weekend.

TCU drops to #6 and Alabama or Ohio State backdoors their way in as the #4 seed.  It's entirely brand/ratings-driven bullshit.  If Texas or Oklahoma had the exact same resume as TCU they would be considered a CFP lock no matter what happens in their CCG like Georgia and Michigan are, but that's how this sport works.  Selfishly, I'd be happy with this outcome despite disliking it at a macro-level because it would benefit USC as long as USC takes care of business against Utah.  I'd rather be the 3 seed playing 2 seed Michigan in Phoenix instead of the 4 seed playing 1 seed Georgia in Atlanta.

Ok, maybe in that scenario.

Maybe.

Lulz, TCU isn't getting in with a loss.  Same as 2014, because they're TCU.

Yeah TCU must beat K State to get in.

1) tcu should be in win or lose

2) they wont be in if they lose next week

3) fuck tcu, i hope they lose. I dont want them being the first texas team to make the playoff

4) why are yall rooting for tcu? Wtf

Because they aren't Alabama, Ohio St., Michigan or USC?

And they really have gotten screwed twice.  They should have gotten in during 2014.  And they would have whipped Oregon and maybe even Cam Newton in 2010.

Another reason to pull for TCU to make the playoff above.

They really shouldn’t be. I actually don’t think they will. I guess I wouldn’t be shocked if they are.

Yeah I'd much rather see USC and Michigan in the playoff and/or winning the national championship, over the cockroaches.

Why? The sports media always sucks their dicks dry. Would rather a non-media outsider get into the pseudo “playoff” until a proper real playoff w/o human beauty pagent/ice skating /diving/gymnastics “championship’’ criteria take hold.

Michigan is the closest analog on the planet to Texas so I root for them second always.

I would probably root for TCU over Georgia & USC because underdogs. I would absolutely root for TCU over Ohio State & Alabama because fuck those schools.

Also if TCU somehow pulls off the miracle they will leap frog aggy because right now TCU's last title was 1938 where the gomers are 1939. I think that bit of a knife twist would be fun.
