Something is off here, because I’m positive that kids who were in high school in 2008 are for sure still in college.Ā

With the Pavia ruling, that’s not far away from being a reality. Any eligibility restrictions are suspect.Ā

Bobby & Gerry have said many times on various OTF podcasts/YouTube live shows that they think that the NCAA will move to 5 years total from when you leave high school.Ā

No redshirts, JuCo counts as college, 5 years max and you’re done whether there are injuries or not.Ā

Sounds fine. Some will be gone in 3, some in 4, some in 5.

That’s like slapping a bandaid on a crack in a dam. The NCAA can’t unilaterally restrict the earning power of individuals to any arbitrary period of time.

Without an antitrust exemption from Congress and a collective bargaining agreement with a group of athletes, that 5-year eligibility period, like every other eligibility criteria, is likely to fall in any court challenge. Ā We’ve crossed the threshold away from amateurism and there’s no going back. Ā

Any NCAA eligibility rule change and announcement is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

It’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better. Completely unregulated college sports is about to be upon us for a while. Ā Only Congress can save the day. How great is that?

First off the bus: Kiotti Armstrong, 2025 Top247 4-star TE, Texas A&M signee
Jasper (Texas) standoutĀ Kiotti ArmstrongĀ has long been our radar as a monstrous tight end prospect who could play along the defensive front or easily grow into an offensive tackle. That said, the Texas A&M signee's functional athleticism and layered athletic background, which includes baseball and basketball, support just how effective he is with the ball in his hands. Armstrong measured 6-foot-5 and nearly 270 pounds with enormous features: 10 1/2-inch hand, almost 36-inch arm, and a 6-foot-11+ wingspan. Coincidentally, the "first off the bus" selection was the second through the door of more than 80 players at Monday's check-in.

Lamont Rogers, 2025 Top247 5-star OT, Texas A&M signee
Five-stars typically look the part when they walk through the door, and that was exactly the case when Mesquite (Texas) Horn behemothĀ Lamont RogersĀ showed up to Monday's check-in. A five-star offensive tackle, Rogers, who also has played basketball and soccer, measured just shy of 6-foot-6 and almost 330 pounds. With 10 3/8-inch hands,Ā the Texas A&M signee also posted a 35+ arm and a legitimately 7-foot wingspan.

Chace Sims, 2025 Top247 4-star DL, Texas A&M signee
Texas A&M signeeĀ Chace SimsĀ assembled an outstanding senior year for Texas Class 5A Division II state champion Richmond Randle out of the Houston metro area. Sims, who registered 28.5 TFL and 11 sacks as a senior, measured north of 6-foot-3 and almost 280 pounds with an enormous arm number (35 inches) and nearly 6-foot-10 wingspan.

-- Texas A&M sent the highest number of signees/commits to the Navy All-American Game and they impressed in the check-in line. Pushing 6-foot-5 and almost 250 pounds, West Coast edge defenderĀ Marco JonesĀ represented one of those impressive Aggies. Jones boasted large hands (10+) and the requisite LOS length.

Man, I REALLY wanted to pair Townsend with Armstrong. Sucks he went to that shit hole. Maybe he'll jump in the portal next season when aggy is on their couches couches once again while we're in the playoffs once again.Ā

They’re not saying you can’t play football, just not in the ncaa after 5 years. Semi pro and pro league is availableĀ

And when an athlete sues the NCAA because that arbitrary limit constrains his ability to earn money, the NCAA will lose. The NCAA controls the market. They’ll lose every time until a players’ union is formed, a collective bargaining agreement is reached, and congress authorizes an anti-trust exemption.Ā

I feel like with revenue sharing coming it’s going to be contracted. I think these athletes are going to get a hard lesson on business side of sports.Ā

agreed, they already have so many exceptions as well as the timing of when the eligibility period start is sport based. Very much indicates things being arbitrary.Ā  You currently have late 20's D1 players playing against 17 year olds so I'm not sure what argument they are going to make.

The ncaa could also say we have no business or try to be in the business of the players nil. The pros pay also, go try that organization. Sue them for not letting you play in their organization. There is a way to argue it and win. Don’t know who made the rule but dissolve the 3 yr rule and say good luck in the nfl if they draft you. Might kill the ncaa but they’re headed that way anyway. Ā

The nfl makes that rule just like nba makes the 1 year rule. Maurice Clarett already tried to sue to bypass and lost.

NCAA should sue them saying it’s for the kids dammit - they deserve making money - nfl is corrupt blah blah blah. Unlimited years with VY sounds great thoĀ

They sure are spending a ton of money at WR just so Klein can ignore them.

Ā

Just a reminder for everyone, in three years as the play calling OC, here's the leading WRs in his offense:

2022: 725 yards

2023: 589 yards

2024: 574 yards

You know there's a non-zero chance that they gave him a contract that pays him regardless of whether or not he's doing football activities...

Please let this be true...

Lol, there goes there big time 5 star signing...lol.

I'm not shitting on mental health issues, at all. But, I do find it fascinating that after spending a year in fucking Lubbock, Micah Hudson actively entered the transfer portal, made some visits, actively searched for a new home to re-start his football career, and then signed with Texas AM, and moved to campus.Ā

And then within 10 days had a mental breakdown and had to quit football.Ā

College Station, making Lubbock look like paradise since 2024, Or 1904. Whatever. Onward and Upwards, Micah.Ā

"but it *cuts* both ways" would be more appropriate given their history with mental WRs.

Sees pretty clear he's stepping away from football AT A&M.... I'm betting we see footage of him working out and on football skills soon.Ā  Guessing a spring transfer will be in the works.

He had the lingering smell of cowshit in his nostrils, so BCS was uniquely appealing...until he moved in. Then he realized Tech's campus, flat as it is, is the Mona Lisa to Texas A&M's quadraplegic finger painting on the refrigerator.

While admitting my well-founded disdain for College Station, I'm not sure anything this side of a war and famine ravaged desert could make Lubbock look like paradise.

I will give Lubbock this however--they've made a better town with less to start with than College Station, and they're largely realistic about the shortcomings of living there.Ā

Tech has a lot of hot women with healthy sexual appetites. That’s a building block to a lot of people’s idea of paradise.Ā

If the rash doesn’t kill you, it will only make you stronger.Ā

Seeing more rumors on Hudson returning to Tech being floated out there. I assume with the portal free for all situation that is could be possible to return during spring portal?

Reveille must not have approved of him

Maybe one of the milk men made an unwanted advance.Ā
