First time I had an MRI I told them I have metal stents in my heart. They told me everything would be just fine, but I was ready for some Final Destination shit.

Same here, but have had a pacemaker installed since then.
No more MRIs for me, just CATscans and ultrasounds.

Mrs. Brat had an MRI Friday morning - she has titanium plates & screws to keep her wrist and ankle from falling apart.
No problems there with an MRI.

Perhaps if the metal in that necklace had been of a more noble material...such as non magnetic

Like the titanium stents.

Man Dies After Being Sucked into MRI Machine

 Summarize

July 19, 2025 by David Jones

A tragic incident unfolded on Long Island when a 61-year-old man was fatally injured after being pulled into an MRI machine due to a metal chain he was wearing around his neck. The accident occurred on Wednesday at Nassau County Open MRI in Westbury, according to local law enforcement.

The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was not a patient at the facility but was accompanying a relative who was scheduled for a medical scan. He was not authorized to be in the imaging room, but reportedly entered the area due to his relative’s distress.

Witnesses reported that the man ignored instructions to stay out of the MRI room, entering because his relative was in severe pain. The powerful magnetic field of the MRI machine attracted the large metal chain he was wearing, pulling him into the machine.

Following the incident, the man experienced a severe medical emergency. He was rushed to North Shore University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Thursday. The exact cause of his death has not been officially disclosed.

Dr. Payal Sud, a staff doctor at North Shore University Hospital, speculated on the possible injuries that could have resulted from the incident. “If this was a chain that was wrapped around the neck, I could imagine any kind of strangulation injuries that could happen,” Sud said. “Asphyxiation, cervical spine injuries.”

An investigation into the incident is currently underway. However, authorities have stated that they do not suspect any criminal activity in relation to the man’s death. The tragic event serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers of disregarding safety protocols in medical facilities.

RIP

I wanna FF to the part where they dump a truckload of concrete in the hole and call it good.

Titanium is not magnetic. It is not affected by magnetic resonance imaging.

One of the reddit posts said the body is still there. They just "sealed" the cave hole in the ground.

Mrs Brat living through the mri was probably the first clue.

I just read the Nutty Putty Cave wiki. I understand basically every other form of thrill-seeking more than spelunking. That is fucking nightmare fuel.
